As the Payroll Specialist, you will perform the full cycle of payroll duties in support of payroll operations for the Airports Authority.GENERAL RESPONSIBLITIES
Serves as back-up to the Payroll Program Manager for payroll processing and time tracking. Will run a full payroll process from start to finish; audits Workday action items for issuance of the bi-weekly payroll.
Reviews bi-weekly Workday time tracking reports for completeness and conformance with established Airports Authority policies and procedures. Contacts employees and supervisors for clarification of items, as needed, and resolves issues.
Assists with the reconciliation of the quarterly and year-end tax liabilities to payroll and the general ledger as provided by third-party bureau.
Assists with the reconciliation of the payroll and general ledger accounts; researches and corrects discrepancies as needed.
Works with the Accounting and Budget Departments to identify and correct mapping issues.
Works with Payroll Technician to confirm all data entry is accurate.
Works with Payroll Technician to complete internal and external payroll related inquiries.
Prepares and reviews bi-weekly monthly/quarterly payroll reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of progressively responsible experience in payroll administration including processing/administering a payroll of greater than 500 employees.
Full performance knowledge of payroll processing and administration.
Knowledge of general accounting principles including tax reporting regulations, budgeting, and general ledger accounts.
Ability to reconcile payroll and general ledger accounts.
Ability to perform detailed analyses of data and information, prepare payroll and accounting reports, and make recommendations.
Sensitivity to and protection of personal and confidential employee information.
Strong Excel skills, including the ability to filter data and create pivot tables.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong analytical skills.
Skill in written and oral communication.
Ability to use computer hardware and modern office suite software, with an emphasis in Excel and an automated payroll system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation from the American Payroll Association.
A bachelor’s degree in any field.
EDUCATION
A high school diploma or a Certificate of General Educational Development (GED).
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
A state driver’s license in good standing.

Work is typically in progress and upon completion for quality, quantity, timeliness, adherence to guidelines, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
A background security investigation will be required for all new hires.
