Your New Role: We are looking for a Sr. Accountant for the Studio Controllership International (WBPI) accounting team. This Sr. Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and will assist with month-end closing and reporting, consolidation of actual results, oversight of the day-to-day execution of general accounting and operating activities with the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). Successful Senior Accountants will have a desire to gain a deep understanding of the business and have a customer service mindset towards the various Corporate Functions with whom there is regular interaction. Your Role Accountabilities: 1. Monthly/Quarterly Financial Close (35%) • Guiding offshore BPO teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of GL activity. • Perform financial statement reviews including variance analysis and research. • Review account reconciliations prepared by BPO team and ensure resolution of aged items. • Prepare for meetings with Business Unit, International Territory finance teams, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team, to review and understand theatrical performance and GL close status. • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley cycle documentation, audit testing/sampling, identify areas of control risk and design and recommend mitigating control procedures. 2. Day-to-Day (45%) • Performing day-to-day execution of general accounting activities and operating activities. • Identify, investigate, and resolve irregular items and prepare adjusting journal entries as required. • Work closely with internal auditors (FCRA) and external auditors as needed. • Research US GAAP as it relates to significant matters and provide accounting guidance to ensure proper compliance. • Foreign currency exchange rate gain/loss analysis and apply CTA when needed. 3. Special Projects (20%) • Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis, including process improvement initiatives, as determined by internal management. • Make recommendations to improve process efficiencies and develop/administer procedures and guidelines. Qualifications & Experiences: ● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (required). ● Minimum of 3 years of experience working in accounting or related financial area. ● Utilizes advanced analytical skills and draws keen insights from the data. ● Strong data analytics, contract interpretation, and written communication skills ● Successfully manages multiple deadline-driven projects. ● Uses thorough logic and methods as well as business knowledge to solve problems. ● Raises conflicts and concerns to supervisor; makes suggestions to management regarding how to resolve. ● Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully with managers, other levels of personnel and outside clients. ● Embrace and thrive during change. ● Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Not Required but preferred experience: ● CPA preferred. ● Media and Entertainment industry preferred. ● Knowledge of SAP (including Business Warehouse).
