Job Description

As part of the Global Security Organization, the Vulnerability Management Analyst will be the main contact to effectively identify and manage system vulnerabilities that are relevant and significant to our business operations. The analyst will be responsible to manage the lifecycle of vulnerabilities from detection or report to triage, remediation, and validation. The analyst will also work with our service providers and various operation and engineering teams, as required, to complete the tasks needed.

A successful candidate for this position will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on the ability to communicate strategic information, security topics, policies, and standards with non-technical people
  • Understanding of how applications, networking, operating systems, and databases work
  • Knowledge of common infrastructure and web application vulnerabilities and common vulnerability categorizations such as CVE, CVSS, CWE
  • Experience with performing complex network vulnerability scans in both on-prem and cloud environments using common vulnerability assessment tools
  • Experience with identification of false positives, true positives, and exceptions
  • Experience in analyzing, identifying, and developing remediation plans for vulnerabilities
  • In-depth understanding of network & web-based attacks and remediation
  • Knowledge of well-known vulnerabilities and exploits
  • Experience in configuring different types of scans using the Qualys tool or related experience in Nessus or Nmap tools
  • Detail oriented, organized, methodical, follow up skills with an analytical thought process
  • The willingness to participate in 24x7 rotational shift schedules as required

Responsibilities and Tasks

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform vulnerability assessment and web application scans within the environment
  • Curation and assessment of vulnerability data to ensure false positive review and analysis
  • Use an analytical approach to driving significant risk reduction and surfacing risk posture across the organization
  • Using the existing collaborative toolset, ensure that all vulnerabilities are tracked and have an appropriate owner
  • Evaluate, rate, and perform risk assessments on assets
  • Prioritizing vulnerabilities discovered along with remediation timeline(s)
  • Send notifications to the respective stakeholders for remediation of vulnerabilities
  • Interaction with multiple global teams (security architecture, penetration testing, application development, risk, and compliance, etc.)
  • Maintain knowledge of the threat landscape
  • Support the cyber incident response team in specified vulnerability discovery and identification tasks during crisis management.
  • Provide reporting and analysis and follow up
  • Provide vulnerability analysis and produce reports for management
  • Participate collecting, assessing, and cataloging threat indicators

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work-related experience.

Experience

  • 1-3 years in a professional environment preferably as part of an operational security function (Vulnerability management, application testing, penetration testing)
  • 1 year or more of experience as a full-time vulnerability analyst
