As Medical Affairs Onco-Hematology Director, you will be responsible for leading the Onco-hematology Medical Affairs team in Brazil, including the development of the overarching portfolio strategy and recruitment of Oncology and Hematology medical leaders and medical science liaisons (MSLs).

You will actively contribute to GSK objectives by providing strategic medical input into product development, as well as planning and executing medical-scientific activities in context of the development programs. You will also establish a successful and sustainable liaison with the external medical community and act as the direct interface to the global organization.

  • Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Onco-hematology Medical Affairs team´s strategic plans
  • Drive excellence in external expert engagement skills, including congresses, stand-alone meetings, medical education, advisory boards, scientific communications and publications
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development teams and the Emerging Markets/Global Franchise to ensure insights are communicated in a timely way and that clinical trial plans, evidence planning, data gathering, and generation are consistent and aligned to optimize brand strategies
  • Oversee development and management of GSK supported, collaborative and investigator sponsored studies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial leadership team partners to identify customer and patient needs
  • Develop innovative strategies and solutions that contribute to the optimal launch of new products and appropriate use of GSK medicines
  • Provide input into commercial strategy and marketing plans, involving technical accuracy, fair and balanced information and conformance with prevailing legislation, regulations and internal standard operating procedures
  • Act as a senior leader in establishment of medical therapeutic matrix teams to ensure optimal transference of knowledge and skills amongst the Medical team
  • Embed a strategic mindset, value creation culture, and process within the medical affairs organization
  • Contribute a robust knowledge of the disease area, governance and GSK policies; identifying and assisting in management of issues regarding compliance with governance and risk management practices

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • MD, PharmD or PhD with pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Extensive leadership experience
  • Broad experience working in Hematology field
  • Experience working with drug development, regulatory and commercialization process, including clinical trial development

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Experience treating patients with multiple myeloma or leading pharmaceutical hematology portfolio
  • Experience managing, developing, and motivating a team to deliver results in a timely manner
  • Ability to identify, hire, and coach talent to improve performance
  • Experience in change management and restructuring
  • Experience in identify and assessing the needs of key decision makers and stakeholders and building effective relationships in a matrixed environment
  • Experience in setting high performance standards and measures, driving accountability throughout the function and mentoring staff
  • Strong collaboration, documentation and presentation skills, demonstrated superior verbal, written, and presentation skills with all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated customer focus, integrity and relationship building skills, consensus building skills
