Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Care Manager, UNLV Student Wellness [R0143244].
ROLE of the POSITION
The Student Wellness Unit consists of seven departments, Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), Student Health Center (SHC), Behavioral Health Team, Jean Nidetch Care Center (JNCC), Wellness Promotion/Wellness Zone, Disability Resource Center (DRC), and Office of Student Conduct (OSC). This position is responsible for services offered by CAPS and the SHC/BHT. Services are offered to any student who is enrolled and registered, at the undergraduate and graduate level, who has paid the student health fee. This position also serves as a resource for non-student individuals who request information and resources. Student fees provide 2/3 of the budget and institutional fees provide the other 1/3. Together, CAPS and the SHC provide services in approximately 20,000 student visits per year. Approximately 70-140 students/day are seen by clinicians in the SHC/BHT and CAPS during the academic year. The University student population is approximately 30,000. Student ages range from adolescence through elderly with various acuity levels.
The Student Wellness Care Manager position exists to: enhance student utilization of clinical services within CAPS, SHC/BHT. This includes contact with students after voluntary health withdrawal to try to improve student retention. The care manager facilitates effective and appropriate referrals and timely follow-up between Student Wellness offices and other Student Affairs and campus services and between Student Wellness offices and community resources and providers.
The Student Wellness Care Manager is assigned extended multiple work assignments/projects. Administers policies and procedures within a department/program. Evaluated on short to intermediate term results of actions on a periodic basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Human Services, Public Health, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum of one year of related professional experience. Must hold licensure in social work or related field. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. Candidate must pass a background check.

Employees of the UNLV Student Wellness Center must be in compliance with our Employee Exposure to Communicable Disease (Prevention of) Policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least three years of case management/care management experience preferred.
