Figma is growing our team of passionate people on a mission to make design accessible to all. Born on the Web, Figma helps entire product teams brainstorm, design and build better products — from start to finish. Whether it’s consolidating tools, simplifying workflows, or collaborating across teams and time zones, Figma makes the design process faster, more efficient, and fun while keeping everyone on the same page. From great products to long-lasting companies, we believe that nothing great is made alone—come make with us!

We’re looking to add our first Developer Advocate to our EMEA advocacy team. This role will be at the core of our community of developers who are building on Figma’s platform, supporting its growth in EMEA from scratch. You will work closely with developers coming from our high value customers, who are building internal tools to accelerate their design and development workflows. Throughout these engagements, you’ll establish long-standing relationships that can help us scale our efforts in the community, and collect ongoing feedback for the product team.

This is a full time role that can be held from our London hub.

What you'll do at Figma:

  • Grow our footprint in the EMEA developer community.
  • Enable Figma developers at scale: Write standard process guides, create and share example code and developer resources, contribute to improving API documentation, and help answer technical API questions from our users.
  • Motivate and empower the community: Maintain and build strong relationships with users and find opportunities to collaborate. Run networks of champions who participate in beta programs, create content, and help run local communities like our Friends of Figma Plugins interest group.
  • Support our sales and business development initiatives: Partner with developers who are building on the Figma platform to help educate and unblock them—this could be partners building integrations with Figma as well as high value customers building internal tools to accelerate their design and development process.
  • Events: Speak regularly at community meetups, conferences and livestreams; host developer focused sessions as part of betas and platform launches.
  • Advocate for users with the product team. Keep a pulse on community needs, share feedback and work with product to shape the roadmap. Share feedback from the community in an organised, systematic way. Act as trusted adviser for launches to prepare for community reaction. Test new features and provide direct feedback.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • 5+ years experience writing Javascript/Typescript, in addition to modern component-based frameworks (ex: React)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting to large groups of developers and stakeholders
  • An understanding of designer workflows and the types of tools used in bridging the gap between designers and developers
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and joy for iterating on projects from early experimental ideas through to completion
  • Comfort-level with up to 25% of travel
  • Experience building with Figma’s APIs (Plugin or REST) and past experience building developer focused communities

Here are some projects you could work on:

  • Design and build a new Figma livestream around Code Connect
  • Work closely with a large customer to support their onboarding to Figma Dev Mode
  • Create content to help share user stories and standard processes with the greater developer community
