About Faire

Faire is an online wholesale marketplace built on the belief that the future is local — independent retailers around the globe are doing more revenue than Walmart and Amazon combined, but individually, they are small compared to these massive entities. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so that small businesses everywhere can compete with these big box and e-commerce giants.

By supporting the growth of independent businesses, Faire is driving positive economic impact in local communities, globally. We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.

About this role

The Discovery pillar’s core mission is to make it easy and delightful for retailers to find brands and products their customers will love. This role will lead product development for our Inspire team, whose mission is to help retailers discover trends and inspiration, both on and off Faire, and connect those ideas with brands and products to purchase on Faire. The Inspire team owns Faire’s homepage, product hubs, and is set to incubate a number of new highly engaging experiences.

What you’ll do

  • Become an expert on how retailers find inspiration - both off Faire and on Faire - and how that influences purchasing decisions
  • Develop content that drives more retailer visits to Faire
  • Partner with the cross-functional team to craft highly engaging user experiences that retailers love
  • Collaborate with our personalization team to specify and develop algorithms that will plug into these delightful experiences
  • Deeply understand the roadmaps of adjacent Discovery pods to streamline the user experience and identify opportunities for collaboration
  • Evaluate tradeoffs between solutions across user experience, velocity, and modularity
  • Work with and learn from a broad range of world-class leaders across engineering, product management, data science, design, and operations
  • Make decisions alongside the CEO and company founders
  • Enable small businesses around the world to chase their dreams and invest in their local communities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • You have 4+ years of experience in product at a high-growth tech startup or as a startup founder.
  • You are a creative problem-solver. You excel at identifying unintuitive solutions to tough problems.
  • You love shopping and are interested in finding the best products for anything around you
  • You know how to build iteratively. You scope MVPs that optimize for speed and learning.
  • You have experience building high-engagement product experiences through state-of-the-art design, engineering, and data science.
  • You’re an extraordinarily fast learner. You have the natural curiosity and intellectual horsepower to deeply understand new topics and pick up new skills in a very short time.
  • You are relentlessly resourceful. When something needs to get done, you always find a way to make it happen. Even when the work is hard, you power through it and execute with limited information and ambiguity.
  • You are passionate. You are optimistic with a positive energy that other people draw upon.
  • You care deeply about developing products and solutions that will create the best experience for our customers.
