Main Purpose:
The maintenance discipline engineer mechanical is responsible for daily management of the maintenance activities within the defined disciplines (mechanical, civil, rotating, static, piping, structure) with the focus on daily management of mechanical maintenance planner and mechanical field supervisors in planning, scheduling and administrating of the maintenance activities. The maintenance discipline engineer mechanical supports the technical manager in defining, tracking and monitoring the yearly maintenance Opex and Capex budget for specified discipline.
The role requires a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work to minimize downtime and ensure safety and compliance with industry regulations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
Experience:
- MBO-4 education level or preferably bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience in good maintenance practices in the relevant discipline;
- Minimum of 5 years in mechanical maintenance preferably in the O&G or liquid tank storage;
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in liquid bulk storage, including tanks, pumps, valves, and pipelines
- Knowledge of preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance methods for the relevant discipline;
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements for health, safety, and environmental protection
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
Skills:
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation (discipline related);
- Works very structured with attention to detail;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Competence in the use Microsoft Office Suite applications, presentation tools and programs;
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools (e.g., CMMS, AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Excellent in planning and scheduling of his activities;
- Good reading and writing in Dutch as well as English;
- Is pragmatic and results focused

- ECONOMIC: Supports the organization with defining, managing and monitoring the discipline related maintenance budget and ensures an efficient work execution by optimizing the work methods and conditions.

- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency of maintenance operations.
Other Responsibilities:
Maintenance management
- Daily management of the discipline related maintenance activities;
- Works closely and daily coordination with Operations, Customer Service and HSE for efficient maintenance execution and defining priorities based on urgency, criticality and impact on operations ;
- Daily management of the discipline related maintenance budget and cost control;
- Track the performance of mechanical systems and the maintenance team, using key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations for team members;
- Develop and maintain maintenance logs, records, and documentation and ensures that the maintenance management system is systematically used the manage and register maintenance activities;
- Participate and provide input to safety studies, projects and engineering;
- Part of the call out services of the company;
- Lead the team in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical failures;
- Ensure the availability of necessary spare parts and tools for maintenance activities;
- Provide technical input and maintain local maintenance contracts for key contractors and act as local spokesmen for procurement;
- Monitoring and periodically review the contractor performance;
- Periodically align with Procurement on the local contracts, contractor performance and contractor strategy;
- Ensure the optimal use of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials;
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all maintenance activities and administrative requirements comply with industry standards and regulations, including health and safety guidelines and ensures no backlog in compliance related activities;
- Actively participates during the regulatory audits in the area of mechanical maintenance activities;
- Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures for all maintenance tasks;
- Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team and contractors;
Continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency of maintenance operations.
- Participate in root cause analysis for significant equipment failures and implement corrective actions
