Job Description Summary

Controlled Title Holders (CTHs) combine a high level of technical expertise with sound business acumen and a good understanding of engineering processes. CTHs are part of a formal career path for technical personnel wanting to continue to develop and grow their technical competencies while having increasingly more impact on the business.
As recognized experts in specialized fields, they normally lead or support projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business. They are responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional area of expertise for Air-Core Reactors.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning: Support Consulting Engineers in defining business line technology strategies and Multi-Generational Product Plans (MGPP).
  • Design Governance: Chair design reviews for components and assemblies, while ensuring adherence to guidelines through governance and training.
  • Innovation & Proposals: Develop and introduce engineering solutions to create competitive, market-winning proposals.
  • Project Leadership: Provide critical technical direction for large-scale projects during the contract execution phase.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Offer cross-functional consultation to resolve complex product, manufacturing, supply, and field issues, including performing technical rescues.
  • IP Management: Participate in the Patent Evaluation Board (PEB) to secure competitive advantages and protect company intellectual property.
  • External Representation: Represent the business in professional bodies (e.g., IEC, CIGRE) and foster research collaborations with academic institutions.
  • Executive Support: Provide ad-hoc technical guidance to the leadership team, including participation in customer negotiations and supplier audits.
  • Quality & Lessons-Learned: Safeguard design quality by documenting and communicating lessons-learned to prevent repeated technical errors.
  • Talent Development: Drive competency growth by mentoring high-potential talent, leading training schemes, and participating in key recruitment and succession planning.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics,or Computer Science
  • Expertise in Air-Core Reactors
  • Experience in an Engineering capacity and Customer.
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English
