Relationship Manager 

£30,000- £35,000 plus benefits 

Reports to: Divisional Manager 

Directorate: ​Marketing, Fundraising & Engagement​ 

Contract: ​Permanent​ 

Hours: ​Full time 35 hours per week​  

Location: ​Home-based​ with regular travel around the division, covering the Glasgow Area. Candidates must live on patch or within 50 miles of the divisional border.

Recruitment process: 2 stage competency based interview process with task. Virtual interview followed by an on-site in person interview.

As a Relationship Manager you will inspire and motivate supporters (groups, individuals, and corporates) to develop long-term relationships, maximising in-year fundraising opportunities and lifetime value. 

We are looking for candidates from a business development or fundraising background who are excited to join our hard-working team in Glasgow area. We’re looking for a natural people person, with excellent relationship building skills, confident in negotiating with and influencing a diverse group of supporters.  You’ll be used to managing conflicting priorities and be adaptable in an environment where no two days are the same.  

This is a home based role with significant travel across the patch to maximise community engagement. On average this would be 70 percent out in the field (travelling around your patch meeting supporters)and 30 percent home based. However, is subject to change based on business need. There will be some evening working required to attend committee meetings however you will get this time back via our time off in lieu policy.

What will I be doing? 

  • Inspiring, developing and managing supporters to achieve their goals through offering outstanding and tailored stewardship. 

  • Supporting the development of a prospect pipelines of opportunities and identifying and cultivating leads. 

  • Hitting fundraising targets for CRUK's life saving research. 

  • Planning and delivering effective rewards and recognition to increase supporter loyalty and income. 

  • Building strong working relationships with other divisional team members. 

What skills will I need? 

  • Excellent networking and relationship manager skills – and the ability to motivate and influence supporters or customers to reach targets. 

  • Experience of working as part of a high performing team, achieving and exceeding KPIs and targets.

  • The ability and skills to acquire new business and maximise on all fundraising opportunities. 

  • Experience of working unsupervised with the ability to drive and generate own workload. 

  • A strong solution focused approach to help supporters overcome any challenges and maximise their fundraising efforts. 

  • Great time management, prioritisation and planning skills. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (face to face, written and phone).
