The Financial Advisor Services (FAS) Division is seeking a Fixed Income Product Owner to lead the way for Fixed Income growth in FAS. They are responsible for driving the cross-functional distribution alignment with multiple business partners (e.g., Marketing, Portfolio Review Department (PRD), Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) to achieve FI aspirations. This includes aligning efforts with the sales channels and marketing to accelerate growth and building the infrastructure to support distribution.

Scope of responsibilities:

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Set the Fixed Income long term ambitions and the connection to FAS and Vanguard priorities, directing the multi-year strategic planning for Fixed Income in FAS. Partners with PRD to influence and provide feedback on product development priorities for the enterprise.
  • Owns divisional measurement of short- and long-term commercial success; is responsible for ensuring FAS Leadership Team has appropriate awareness and context around the realized rate of commercial success; and formulates recommendations to FAS Leadership Team, as needed, to adjust course, reprioritize, etc.
  • Leads and develops Fixed Income sales strategies across the broker-dealer, registered investment advisor, and bank/asset management/insurance channels to meet business and marketing goals. Consults with FAS leaders to develop strategic direction, and leverages investment research, product, client success, and operations teams to win sales opportunities. 
  • Ensures alignment and synchronization of major go-to-market efforts spanning advertising, client events, conferences, PR, internal & external-use content, product launches/changes, SME calls, ad hoc training sessions, etc.
  • Synthesizes unique needs and priorities of sale channels/sub-channels to engage as “one FAS voice” with key internal partners: Marketing, Product (PRD), Fixed Income Group (FIG), etc.
  • Serves as an internal and external subject matter expert on the investment and client industries, market conditions, competitors, and compliance, regulatory, and departmental policies and procedures. Contributes to the development of Vanguard's external publications.
  • Coordinates any other-than-BAU requests for divisional funding needed to achieve near-/longer-term success. Scales optimal utilization of fixed income specialists across FAS, PRD, and FIG.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of ten years related work experience. Prior experience in strategy consulting and financial analysis preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree or PhD preferred.
  • CFA preferred.
