As part of the customer contracts team in the Legal and Compliance group, you will function as the contracting team lead on our heavy lift rocket, New Glenn. You will team with cross-functional counterparts on issues related to New Glenn’s U.S. Government, commercial and international contracting matters.

In this individual contributor role, you should be comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment, where work projects can be diverse in nature and move quickly. You will be supporting the Director of Contracts and the business unit on all aspects of developing and delivering quotations for goods and services from informal rough order of magnitude through formal proposals, then subsequent contract negotiations, administration, and closeout.

This position will be onsite at our Kent, WA location.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Contracting team lead for U.S. Government and commercial contracting proposal preparation, tracking and transmittal of deliverables.
  • Draft and receive customer correspondence through the development of standardized templates and responses.
  • Provide contractual guidance on government and commercial contracting issues and ensure requirements are communicated and understood throughout the organization.
  • Initiate communications with cross-functional counterparts to track data deliverables, monitor contractual obligations, and prepare documentation.
  • Provide guidance on adherence to internal policies, procedures, and tools relating to customer contract administration. Standardize processes and use automation when practical and appropriate.
  • Mentor and coach a junior contract administrator who will assist you on New Glenn.
  • Occasional travel for meeting support may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8-10 years direct experience in the creation and administration of U.S. Government, commercial and international contracts.
  • TS/SCI security clearance preferred; in lieu of an active security clearance, the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance is required. 
  • Experience with U.S. Government contracting to include Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), NASA FAR Supplement, Cost Accounting Standards, etc.
  • Experience in commercial contracting including business-to-business (B2B) and as a subcontractor to a U.S. Government prime.
  • Experience supporting complex contractual arrangements of different contract types in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with or in the contracting office of NASA, the U.S. Air Force, or other U.S. Government agencies. 
  • A bachelor's degree in a technical field or other field that provides exposure to contracting issues.


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $115,758.00-$162,061.20

Other site ranges may differ
