What You'll Do:
We are seeking an experienced, strategic and effective Director of WMC Business Operations to be a key contributor within its Internal Consulting & Special Projects team. This team focuses on leading strategic initiatives to solve business challenges, ranging from operational to people based workstreams, to help shape our growth strategy in the immediate future.
As Director, you will lead workstreams similar to those in management consulting, identifying and enabling transformation change across the business. You will exhibit a consultative approach and influence in leading cross-functional collaboration and partnerships with senior leaders; this will often require driving consensus or decision-making against competing priorities. Thus, establishing strong and resilient internal relationships in a matrixed organization from the onset is key.
You will bring intellectual curiosity, a consulting skillset with an appetite to lead transformation, and master storytelling skills to craft narratives that inspire but are backed by data. You will consistently demonstrate an ability to tackle complex business challenges while being comfortable producing “stake in the ground” hypotheses.
If you are passionate about driving organizational growth and thrive in dynamic environments, this role is for you!
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
In short, this is a role where one will lean into and fully own the internal consulting arm for Walmart Connect; effectively craft and communicate synthesized narratives and influence executive stakeholders and cross-functional teams up and down the organization. Putting together all the pieces for both the present and future in a strategic way – all in an environment of ongoing change and transformation. Navigate ambiguity with confidence, putting a stake in the ground to drive decisions even in the absence of perfect data and amidst ambiguity. Lead special projects that are rooted in analysis, and hypothesis driven. Help make recommendations that solve complicated business problems to guide and support WMC leadership.
Storytelling: Use your creativity and strategic thinking to craft narratives that captivate audiences and influence key stakeholders to enact change.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Finance, Sales, Marketing, and Product, to drive alignment, streamline workflows, and support the achievement of company objectives. Build strong and trusting relationships with team members and business partners including executives and department heads. Work collaboratively and cross-functionally to achieve objectives and communicate to a variety of audiences with influence and inspiration to garner commitment and action.
Business Connectivity and Implications: Strategically connect the dots between various business functions and priorities, ensuring a holistic understanding of how initiatives impact the overall business. Tie project outcomes back to tangible business implications and key performance indicators. Root decision making in data driven hypothesis and conclusions, conducting financial assessment and analysis for each project.
Executive Stakeholder Management: Be a go-to person for leaders to help tackle some of the most difficult business challenges including, but not limited to, organization transformation, business efficiency diagnostics and implementation etc. Engage with senior-level stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities and drive consensus.
