Leidos' Health Solutions Organization is currently seeking a driven Clinical Product Manager, Ancillary SME in support of the Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Program, its $4.6B single award IDIQ contract, known as MHS GENESIS.  This highly visible program is designed to deploy, operate, and sustain a new electronic health record to the military health system, supporting nearly 10 million service members and their families worldwide. While every healthcare system is addressing quality, user experience and cost, the MHS GENESIS program has the added challenge of delivering these objectives within the DOD security environment, at the DOD’s global scale, all while supporting the Defense Health Agency (DHA)’s vision of a medically ready force ─ which is essential to our national defense. 

The Clinical Product Manager’s primary responsibilities include managing the product(s) line life cycle from inception and strategic direction through to the execution of tactical activities needed to keep the product(s) growing and relevant in their respective marketplace. This person will manage products from existing ideas and assist in developing new ideas based on industry insights based on market research. This person is familiar with the software design and development process, which allows this person to successfully manage products on a roadmap. This individual is responsible for defining customer requirements for any given software application and work closely with the software development team in ensuring those requirements are addressed. The Product Manager is expected to work independently, make decisions on matters of significance, and need little direct supervision.

Essential Functions

  • Set, communicate, drive & monitor product line strategic plan including the vision, goals, and initiatives

  • Work collaboratively with the customer team to analyze product performance, develop recommendations for product improvement, product reporting

  • Collaborate with our internal partnership team and our integrated team with our customer set for product roadmap development

  • Leverage clinical experience and assist with the proposal and/or adoption of new practices, concepts or solutions.

  • Aptitude for applying analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to predict clinical, business, or technical challenges and looks to proactively head-off obstacles.

  • Ability to communicate under pressure, speak publicly, prepare, deliver presentations, and escalate priority issues.

  • Work with Product Management leadership to identify, negotiate and manage business partnerships with 3rd party vendors specific to the Clinical product line.

  • Provide clinical and EHR system expertise for optimization of MHS GENESIS and product line (especially ancillary services) while understanding end-user needs.

  • Skilled in gathering information from various reports to analyze product line incidents and defects

  • Summarizes and presents clear and concise progress updates, findings, or recommendations using verbal, and written communication techniques.

  • Understanding of large enterprise level development with intricate requirements

  • Demonstrated, comprehensive clinical product knowledge that will help facilitate progress in product line development

REQUIRED Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in information management, healthcare licensure, Biological Sciences or equivalent experience.

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Contract requirement.

  • 8-12 years of prior relevant experience, with 3 years in a software product management or product ownership role.

  • Clinical experience in EHR systems (preferably Oracle Millennium)

Preferred Experience & Education

  • MBA and/or Master’s in Health Administration, Information Management, or Computer Science

  • Clinical Product Line experience in EHR systems (preferably Oracle Millennium)

  • Previous experience working with government clients

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
