The Opportunity
Are you a results oriented accounting professional looking to expand your knowledge of joint venture accounting? Do you have advanced excel skills? We are #hiring a Joint Venture Accountant to come join us at our Calgary head office. If you are looking for a great learning experience and have a keen motivation for process improvements and efficiency implementations, we want to hear from you!
You will leverage technology to help automate and enhance the team’s analytical and processing capabilities. You will help ensure timely collection and payment for a selection of Vermilion’s operated and non-operated properties in Canada and the United States. Using your strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, you will join a team that values its people and provides work with purpose.
What you will do
Identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve joint venture accounting processes
Provide timely non-operated joint venture billing analysis and coding, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Ensure joint venture accounts receivable and payable are current for both operated and non-operated properties
Communicate with joint venture partners and respond to joint interest billing queries, ensuring prompt resolution of partner disputes
Liaise with land, engineering, and joint venture contract departments
Analyze non-operated properties for profitability and missing data
What you will bring
A post-secondary education in accounting and or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years combined accounting experience , oil and gas experience is preferred
Experience in SAP, EnergyLink, and CS Explorer is an asset
Proficient in Excel; experience with Power BI would be considered an asset
A positive team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals
Demonstrated ability to multi task
