The Spectacles Developer Experience team is expanding with a new role focused on enhancing our support for partners developing on our Spectacles platform.
As a key member of the Spectacles Developer Experience team, you'll interface with Lens developers globally and those building for the Spectacles Platform. Our mission is to ensure developers have an unparalleled experience when crafting AR/MR experiences for wearable AR devices.
We are looking for an AR Engineer to join the Spectacles Developer Experience team at Snap Inc! If you're a developer with a passion for educating and supporting teams in creating successful end-to-end experiences, and have professional experience with technical users of 3D engines such as Unity and Unreal, we'd love to hear from you.
What you’ll do:
Develop and curate resources, complete with detailed documentation for Spectacles developer community
Help manage technical relationships with partners and external development team
Explore and demonstrate new potential capabilities for the platform
Collaborate closely with the design team to build a better developer experience for Lens Studio
Work in tandem with engineering teams to validate and contribute to the design of new features, ensuring they cater to developers' needs
Work with user researchers to test new concepts and iterate based on feedback
Collaborate with the Partnership team to define the scope of projects with development partners, focusing on maximizing the potential of the Spectacles platform
Stay up to date of industry trends
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Solid foundation in computer science principles
Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#/C++
In-depth knowledge of real-time AR development tools and 3D engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Lens Studio)
Experience in creating VR/AR experiences
Understanding of 3D mathematics, linear algebra, 3D geometry, graphics, and rendering
Experience with profiling and optimizing 3D engine-built experiences
Exceptional communication and presentation abilities
Strategic thinking about product development
Self-driven with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes uncertain work environment
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of experience
3+ years of experience designing and developing real-time interactive experiences
Proficiency in designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal, Lens Studio)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with spatial design, prototyping and development software (e.g. Lens Studio, Figma, Blender, C4D, Unity)
Bringing something new to the table: whether that’s a new perspective on our product, a unique understanding of a particular field, or expertise in a particular field like AI, CV, ML, 3D graphics, HCI, etc.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
