We are seeking a dedicated Scale Testing Lead/Specialist to join our team, focusing on our suite of legal research products, including Westlaw, Practical Law, CLEAR, and other related platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality assurance and a deep understanding of testing methodologies and frameworks, with an emphasis on scalability and performance testing. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our products can handle expected user loads, data volume, and usage patterns without compromising performance.

  • Proven ability to set direction and inspire team members to engage and deliver on a vision.
  • Design, develop, and execute scale and performance tests on various legal research products.
  • Collaborate with the development and product management teams to understand product features and technical specifications.
  • Create detailed, structured test plans and test cases to simulate real-world scenarios and heavy usage loads.
  • Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and suggest solutions to improve performance and scalability.
  • Work with the engineering team to integrate scale testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Monitor system performance in production to identify potential scalability issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate test progress, results, and insights to stakeholders and team members.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process, helping to identify and implement best practices in scale testing.

About you:

You're a fit for the role of Software Engineer if your background includes:

  • 3 to 6 Years of IT experience.
  • Object-Oriented programming experience (Java, C#) - Desirable
  • 1-2 years of experience with Selenium
  • Desired, 1 or more years of experience load testing enterprise products
  • Experience developing tests with Selenium
  • Design, develop, and execute scale and performance tests on various legal research products.
  • Collaborate with the development and product management teams to understand product features and technical specifications.
  • Create detailed, structured test plans and test cases to simulate real-world scenarios and heavy usage loads.
  • Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and suggest solutions to improve performance and scalability.
  • Work with the engineering team to integrate scale testing into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Monitor system performance in production to identify potential scalability issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new testing tools, methodologies, and industry best practices.

  • Proven ability to set direction and inspire team members to engage and deliver on enterprise product testing activities
  • Proven experience in performance and scalability testing, preferably in a SaaS or cloud-based environment.
  • Strong understanding of performance metrics and monitoring tools.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Familiarity with legal research products and the legal industry is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
