What you will do

In this vital role you will as the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) Senior Manager will support the HR set up of India Amgen Technology and Innovation Center and serve as a strategic partner to the business, aligning HR practices and objectives to support the achievement of Amgen’s goals. This role involves providing comprehensive HR support and guidance to senior leadership, managing complex HR projects, and driving initiatives that enhance organizational performance and staff engagement. The HRBP Senior Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the HR strategy and fostering a high-performance culture.

Strategic HR Partnership: Partner with senior leadership to understand strategic objectives and develop HR strategies that support organizational goals. Provide expert advice and guidance on HR matters, including talent management, organizational development, organization design, workforce planning and staff relations. Align HR initiatives with business strategies to drive performance and growth.

Talent Management and Development: Lead talent management processes, including succession planning, performance management, and leadership development & coaching. Identify and address talent gaps and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent. Support career development initiatives and create opportunities for staff growth.

Staff Engagement and Culture: Drive staff engagement initiatives to foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Drive staff surveys, analyze feedback, and implement action plans to improve staff satisfaction and retention. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.

HR Operations and Compliance: Collaborate with HR operations to ensure efficient and compliant HR processes. Maintain compliance with local labor laws and regulations and Amgen’s policies and procedures. Be point of contact for staff relations issues and provide guidance on conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.

Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to the business. Create and implement change management strategies to support organizational transformations. Communicate effectively with staff to ensure understanding and on board for change initiatives.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Apply HR metrics and analytics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR programs for the aligned business. Provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership on key HR indicators and trends. Implement data-driven solutions to improve HR processes and outcomes. May have responsibilities to manage HR budget for the aligned business.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP or HR management experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 8 to 10 years of Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP or HR management experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 to 14 years of Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP or HR management experience OR

  • Diploma and 14 to 18 years of Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a senior HRBP or HR management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Must-Have

  • Proven experience in strategic HR partnership and leadership

  • Strong business acumen and sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of HR in India

  • Proficiency in HR software and systems

Soft skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

  • Ability to interact with and influence all levels of staff, management, and executives.

  • Travel Readiness, some travel may be required
