Senior Manager, Pharmacy – Pharmaceutical Strategic Business Insights

Position Summary

The Senior Manager of Strategic Business Insights will assess and optimize financial performance of initiatives that promote the advancement of CVS Health’s long-term strategies across the pharmaceutical landscape. This role will coordinate cross-functionally to gather and critically assess multi-faceted data points in order to pressure test ideas and strategies. Through the collaboration with key teams and business units, the senior manager will develop financial modeling to support pharmaceutical new business, partnerships, and net new opportunities and ventures.

Key responsibilities

  • Contributes to planning and administration of programs, ventures, partnerships, and initiatives.
  • Develops a deep understanding of CVS pharmacy internal and external data, utilizing advanced analytic tools to perform analyses for deal modeling and financial forecasts.
  • Incubating new ideas through sizing and evaluating new opportunities for growth, including market intelligence and market research.
  • Designing and executing well thought-out analyses to answer ambiguously articulated questions.
  • Ability to develop financial forecasts and models to support decision-making of new business.
  • Develops recurring business critical analysis, reports, and market intelligence to guide current and go forward approaches.
  • Identifying gaps and opportunities for improving existing partnerships.
  • Engages with broader CVS teams to acquire and integrate data sources to drive operational excellence and strategic prospects.
  • Create executive materials in multiple avenues that leverage data to build a compelling narrative, telling a story to inform & influence the intended audience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
     
  • 7+ years of business analytics, financial modeling, data science or relevant experience
  • 5+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, payers, pharmacy sourcing or pharmacy distribution required 
  • Proven knowledge of pharmacy economics with strong analytic skills
  • Ability to synthesize large data sets with market intelligence to provide a meaningful output
  • Adept at solving complex issues through teamwork and collaboration
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must have strong communication and presentation skills
  • Self-starter and highly motivated with a growth mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or advanced degree preferred
  • Experience with data manipulation and programs such as SQL
  • Experience building financial models for new business opportunities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Consulting experience preferred

Travel

  • Travel as needed

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$67,900.00 - $190,700.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
