As a Senior 3D Environment Artist, you will be responsible for the creation of immersive 3D environments for Blizzard’s next great game. You will have the opportunity to be a part of an art team that brings iconic locations to life for both core gameplay and meta.
You will partner with experienced visual development artists, technical artists, and level designers to create extraordinary and unforgettable places within our game's universe that will be experienced by players around the world. The role will be complex, creative, and engaging with loads of opportunities to hone your skills and try new things.

Collaborate closely with the team to develop in-game 3D environments, as well as art content that aligns with the project's objectives, vision, and player expectations, adhering to the designated art style.
Work in close coordination with designers to guarantee that art contributions seamlessly complement game-design specifications.
Engage with the planning for the project, ensuring your content is delivered according to the project production needs.
Work with all disciplines needed to ensure your 3D art is delivered to a specification that offers great on-device performance within the required technical budgets.
Support the mentoring and development of more junior artists as required.
Support any outsourced art efforts as required.
Proficient in crafting high-quality 3D environments and props, encompassing both organic and hard-surface modeling techniques.
Experience and understanding of how environment art fits into the production of game development in collaboration with other crafts and disciplines, especially visual development, tech art and level design.
Experience adding mood and atmosphere into an environment with scene composition and lighting.
Strong understanding of form, structure, architecture, and composition.
Strong understanding of efficient UV layout, PBR pipeline, tileable/trim textures, and modular-level creation methods.
Strong understanding of color, light, and how complex surfaces are created in-game.
Knowledgeable in the technical aspects of creating in-game environments, covering the full end-to-end pipeline, and adept at implementing art into a game efficiently, with a focus on clean, structured, and optimized processes.
In-depth knowledge of industry standard software for the creation of 3D art and any industry relevant game engine.
A passion for making high-quality games in a cross-discipline, collaborative team.
A natural problem-solver, keen to do what’s right for the environments you’re creating and the game as a whole.
A proactive contributor, keen to learn and develop your skills and to share your knowledge with the team.
Excellent skills in communication and organization.
Experience working with outsourcing for 3D environment art.
Experience with Unity and mobile game development.
Technical skills (shader creation, particles, VFXs, and/or procedural content creation tools).
Abilities in concept art or visual development.
