A great opportunity for and experience Vet to join a wonderful Sheffield Practice as Lead Vet!
About the role:
Our Lead Veterinary Surgeon is responsible for line management of the vet team, maintaining high standards of patient and client care and optimising the uptake of clinical services and maintaining clinical quality. The lead vet will assist with mentoring, participation in the RCVS practice standards scheme, involvement in patient safety event analysis and clinical audits. The Lead Veterinary Surgeon will work closely with, and assist the Clinical Director to provide leadership, training, and development of the vet team in addition to providing guidance and support to the nursing and client care team. The position is primarily clinical but will include at least a half a day per week of protected non-clinical time to perform these additional responsibilities.
Previous line manager/senior vet experience is desirable but not essential, this would be a great first step into leadership for an experienced Vet, or a fantastic Lead role for an existing senior Vet.
About Peak Vets:
Peak Vets is a single site, RCVS Veterinary Hospital located in the borough of Woodseats within the vibrant city of Sheffield (labelled the ‘Northern Capital of Cool by The Times). There are 8.5 FTE vets who are ably supported by a brilliant nursing and client care team. Peak pride themselves on providing high quality, accessible healthcare for their client’s pets. The practice has a very low turnover of associates; they love their work and like to have fun together within and outside of the practice. There are currently Certificate holders in Dermatology, Feline Medicine, Small Animal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging. The practice has 4 spacious consulting rooms, 2 operating theatres, separate cat, dog and isolation wards and separate imaging and dental rooms, and is well equipped with the usual in house diagnostic and surgical kit you would expect from an RCVS Hospital practice.
