Project Title
Internship in Wafer Fabrication Process/Equipment Engineering
Project Objective
Wafer fabrication is the fundamental of all electronics and its applications in the semiconductor supply chain. Everything starts off with a bare silicon substrate, which undergoes many processing steps to form the ultimate IC chips that power up the electronics appliances. Controls are put in place to monitor the critical processing steps to detect any abnormalities early to guarantee wafer quality upon completion.
Project Description
Interns will get exclusive insights and hands-on experience in Global Foundries’ state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing environment. Through shadowing experts in the field and assisting in works inside the Fab, you will gain a deeper understanding on the wafer fabrication process. You will also be presented with various opportunities such as roundtable with management and inter-department networking and interactions. Interns will also be given chances to consolidate their learning and provide recommendations for improvement.
Interested applicants should be inquisitive and have a positive learning attitude.
Project Outcome
Interns will gain experience in the semiconductor industry, demonstrate a good understanding of the process module.
At the end of the internship, a presentation of learning experience with recommendations for improvement is required.
Required Qualifications:
Degree in in Chemical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemistry & Physics
