SMX is seeking an Integrated Master Scheduler (IMS) to develop, maintain, and manage comprehensive project schedules for cybersecurity initiatives within the organization. This role ensures that all projects are aligned with critical security milestones and timelines, actively incorporating risk assessments, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements. The IMS collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to drive project efficiency and security excellence, leveraging a strong foundation in project management practices and technical knowledge of cybersecurity principles. This is a full-time onsite position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Cybersecurity Project Scheduling:
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules for cybersecurity initiatives, including the Security Operations Center (SOC), vulnerability assessments, network hardening, and enterprise cybersecurity awareness training events.
- Identify dependencies, critical paths, and resource allocations to ensure the timely execution of tracked tasks
- Risk-Based Scheduling:
- Assess risks, timelines, and dependencies to prioritize tasks essential for maintaining program and project progress.
- Proactively adjust schedules to accommodate program and project priority changes, ensuring minimal timeline disruption.
- Vulnerability Management:
- Monitor threat intelligence and vulnerability reports, revising schedules as instructed to address high-priority security issues promptly.
- Stakeholder Coordination:
- Work with cybersecurity analysts, network engineers, compliance officers, and project managers to ensure precise scheduling and timely project completion.
- Serve as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders to effectively communicate project objectives, risks, and timelines.
- Schedule Reporting and Analysis:
- Create regular reports outlining project progress, milestones reached, and any schedule deviations.
- Proactively identify risks to timelines and suggest mitigation strategies to ensure project goals are achieved.
- Change Management:
- Manage adjustments to the schedule due to security updates, regulatory changes, or new threat intelligence, documenting all modifications and ensuring effective communication within the team.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Track project activities to ensure adherence to cybersecurity regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure all project schedules incorporate regulatory deadlines and mandatory security updates.
- Cybersecurity Administrative Support:
- Provide Cybersecurity administrative support to include, but not limited to, updating ECD email distribution lists, phone rosters, onboarding checklists, etc.
Required Skills, Experience & Education
- Active TS security clearance and eligible for SCI and NATO read-on before starting work.
- Bachelor's Degree in project management, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
- CCE, GCSA, GFACT, GISF, or GSLC
- Project Scheduling Expertise
- Proficient in creating and overseeing integrated master schedules while recognizing risks and dependencies.
- Cybersecurity Awareness
- Familiar with cybersecurity concepts and best practices, capable of integrating security priorities into project schedules.
- Risk Management
- Skilled in recognizing risks to project timelines and suggesting effective mitigation strategies.
- Analytical Thinking
- Excellent skills in analyzing project data, identifying trends, and implementing schedule improvements.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to convey project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability:
- Ability to manage and adapt project schedules in response to changing cybersecurity threats and priorities.
- Project Management Expertise:
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, and execution, particularly with tools like Microsoft Project or similar software.
- Strong understanding of critical path analysis and resource allocation.
- Cybersecurity Knowledge: Familiar with cybersecurity principles, including network security, application security, vulnerability management, threat intelligence and incident response.
- Technical Skills:
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM solutions, EDR platforms, and network monitoring systems.
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and standards like NIST, ISO 27001, or RMF.
- Experience working in a cybersecurity-focused organization or managing projects related to cybersecurity.
