Job Description Summary:

Designs, implements, and evaluates fundraising goals, plans, activities, and strategies in consultation with Foundation Director. Provides support to the Foundation’s Fund Committees. Understands Endowment, Planned Giving and Fundraising principles. Supports, manages and trains volunteers and new fund committee members. Develops and maintains effective communications and relationships with potential financial donors. Develops and manages solicitation and gift giving processing to include tracking and reporting. Prepares and manages Donor Perfect and coordinates along with Director WE CARE Employing Giving Campaign. Takes a leading role in recording and managing corporate sponsorships and assist with Philanthropy Council and Hospice Home campaign. Develop infrastructure necessary to support expanded fundraising initiatives. Performs other duties assigned by the Director. Under the general supervision of the Director of the Hope and Healing Foundation, the normal working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with evening and weekends as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and update a donor fundraising/development plan. 
  • Work with the Management Team of the Foundation to determine goals and objectives for the plan. 
  • Establishment of new funds and endowments, fundraising events, memorial giving programs, donor advised funds, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Maintain the donor management system by working to track and document donor addresses, contact information, and enter into donor management system, donor record documentation, and donor acknowledgement procedures. Act as a representative of the Foundation at fundraising events and in meetings with supporters such to motivate, inspire and recruit maximum support for the Foundation’s fundraising.
  • Develop and update a solicitation plan as well as work with Director to determine goals and objectives for the plan. Develop written marketing objectives for customer development, product development, advertising, marketing, and public relations.
  • Create an efficient system for update and review of objectives.
  • Formulate sound plans annually for the attainment of the above marketing objectives and policies.
  • Demonstrate effective marketing knowledge and supervisory skills through decision making, delegation, communication, financial techniques, marketing operation planning, development, and control.
  • Prepare weekly grant requests by providing documentation for each transaction and donor record.
  • Accurately record donor gifts and information through credit card entry.
  • Perform weekly credit card entry, reconciling with donor records and gift receipts
  • Produce accurate and timely gift receipts for the donor.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must be results and action oriented.
  • Previous public relations, grant writing, and Annual Fund experience desired.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION:  

  • N/A     

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the field requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to organize thoughts and present information in a logical and informative manner.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of personnel relations, marketing, public relations, and fund development.
  • An ability to attend meetings where and when necessary.
  • A working knowledge of computers (building data bases, word processing, spreadsheets, graphic presentations).
