Manufacturing Technicians contribute to cycle time reduction by facilitating product movement, keeping lot mean time at step (MTAS) low and including advanced support tasks. The area MT is the first responder on area inefficiencies, i.e. lots not tracking/staging, data not down loading, tool lockups, and lot processed verification. The MT uses production planning reports to review historical workstation performance and identify areas for improvement. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Safety and Quality:

  • Completes all required safety training and conducting all work in accordance with safety policies
  • Creates and maintains a safe work environment
  • Performs safety audits and walkthroughs
  • Consistently supports established safety and quality processes
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) actions
  • Contributes to continuous improvement and problem solving efforts
  • Identifies and helps resolve training opportunities or procedure gaps
  • Ensures the quality of task updates and passdowns
  • Leads queue time alerts and helps coordinate when to stop/start lot ordering

Workstation Efficiency:

  • Demonstrates expertise in completing area routine operations to ensure throughput needs are accomplished
  • Identifies chronic area inefficiencies and works on resolving them through CIP, area suggestion or training
  • Applies planning reports such as Workstation Constraints Reports, GANTT charts, and ToolMon to improve area constraints
  • Proactively addresses operational inefficiencies by monitoring, addressing notifications and raising issues
  • Partners with area engineering on workstation and operational enhancements
  • Covers additional workstations and tasks during staffing shortages or at supervisor direction
  • Monitors status of key bottlenecks and priority workstations throughout shift to ensure they are running efficiently
  • Ensures tasks status is being updated and all relevant lot information is commented and passed down to next shift
  • Aims to shift game plan as developed by MA and Supervisor

WIP Management:

  • Facilitates the movement of product through your area(s) to improve cycle time
  • Resolves or call out lot issues in Special Work Requests (SWR), GeRM, MTAS lotsReviews Prod/Dev hold lots and prioritizes what can be resolved and raises as necessary
  • Follows up on all Delayed lots: Wait_Target, _Parent, _ Dispo, etc.
  • Follows up on Auto Stage fails, track out fails, or recipe not on tool errors
  • Adds MTAS comments to lots per requirements
  • Provides oversight of test wafer management in the area and collaborate with the Test Wafer Management team

Support Training and Documentation:

  • Updates or helps create procedures to align with area practices and to support training
  • Ensures Assessor checklists and other documents are kept up to date
  • Participates in the integration of new Learning items in the area(s)Performs area assessments and certifications on time
  • Identifies the need and helps create training references
  • Assists in the training of others as directed by leadership
  • Ensures Best Known Methods (BKM’s) are documented and shared with the team

Successful Candidates must have the following Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistics, Algebra, and English coursework
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
  • Proven ability to accurately read and interpret verbal and written instructions to improve area efficiency
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Excel
  • Proven ability to effectively type a minimum of 40 words per minute
  • The willingness and ability to work any shift, which includes weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor production operations concepts
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency in multi-tasking and driving basic projects
  • Basic understanding of SPC principles
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot basic problems and identify and resolve root causes
  • Proven ability to recognize performance gaps and identify steps to improve
  • Proven ability to follow basic procedures and work with minimal supervision

Education:

  • Two year industry related Associates Degree or equivalent experience or higher
    Note: Degree must include Introductory College Algebra and Introductory College English
