Markets Operations at Citi has embarked on a significant, multi-year transformation covering all aspects of designing and delivering a future state target operating model: risk and controls, regulatory compliance, process re-engineering, automation, people and culture, data transformation, technology investment and client service. This is a large and complex undertaking.

The Markets Operations Transformation team has been formed to support stakeholders both within Operations and across the bank, to design and deliver this multi-year transformation roadmap. Our transformation is underpinned by strategy, investment, change execution and a market-leading operations change delivery team focusing on programme and project management, business analysis, process re-engineering, low code application development and PMO.

Role Overview:

The team is currently recruiting for an Operations Programme manager at Director level. Areas within focus for this role will include managing multiple projects and Programmes within Markets Ops. These could include, but may not be limited to Operations Regulatory Programmes, Operations Front to Back process and application re-engineering Programmes or Risk remediation initiatives. The role will further include taking a lead on key areas of root cause analysis, shaping investment business cases and working across our partner groups to create and execute on delivery plans aligned to achieving business outcomes.

What you'll do:

  •  Supports planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running a program or portfolio of programs.
  • Manages a programme area by applying a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas as well as underlying business principles.
  • Identifies stakeholders in key organizations and build and manage relationships with each stakeholder.
  • Directs the creation of multiple programs of work and manage their alignment to business goals.
  • Leads the identification and drive resolution of issues, including those outside established programs of work.
  • Works with stakeholders to ensure program scope definition meet business objectives and partner with Program Sponsor to ensure business case/cost benefit analysis is in line with business goals.
  • Takes a lead role on root cause analysis, business requirements, planning, benefit definition and delivery execution.
  • Drives adherence to program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery and leverage across the program.
  • Directs the communication of status, issue, and risk disposition to all stakeholders, including senior management, on a timely basis.
  • Directs the identification of risks which impact program delivery and ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary.
  • Manages a team of employees and coach and evaluate performance and makes recommendations for pay increases, promotion etc.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

What we'll need from you:

  • Previous relevant experience including managerial experience
  • Demonstrated consistent track record having worked as a Program or Project Manager, Lead, PMO or department head, managing teams and large, strategic cross-functional projects
  • Previous program/project management, consulting, technology and/or management
  • CAPM, PMP, PgMP and/or MBA are a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree and managerial experience
