Working Hours

Department Description

Our LPMs are practice group aligned, and contribute to our LPM best practices, tools and techniques, as well as provide user training on our legal project management framework and software. The successful candidate will work closely with partners, high level business contacts and clients. The core responsibility of this role to proactively manage matters through scoping, budgeting, resource planning, monitoring and analyzing. 

Role Overview

Our global, dynamic Legal Project Management team is looking for the right candidate to join our team to support the Corporate & Finance practice group.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Build deep relationships with partners, and other business services teams.

  • Efficient management of matters, including initial scoping, budgeting, and workstream planning, as well as on-going matter management, tracking and data analysis.

  • Liaise with other business services teams (pricing/finance/IT/knowledge/marketing/business development/etc) and vendors to support partners and their clients/matters.

  • Identify opportunities for efficiency and innovation, both at the matter level and the LPM program level.

  • Provide training and development on LPM methodology, tools, and techniques.

  • Drive and support the implementation, use and development of LPM best practices, tools, software.

  • Work within practice group aligned LPM teams reporting directly to the practice group LPM Lead.

  • Specific duties or responsibilities may be reviewed from time to time to reflect changes in personnel and management structure, staff location or services.

  • All members of the firm participate in our Responsible Business program

Person Specification

Qualifications And Training

  • At least 2 years of experience as an LPM, with advanced knowledge of project management methodology.

  • Prefer experience with transactional law.

  • Large firm consultative experience is preferable.

  • Experience with scoping, budgeting, project planning, workflow management, after-matter reviews.

  • Technical skills desired include Excel, PowerBI (or comparable business intelligence software), HighQ, Collaborate, Smartsheet, ELM (or comparable LPM tool), and Clocktimizer.

  • Deep knowledge of law firm management metrics, and how day-to-day legal practice interacts with those metrics.

  • High degree of influencing skills and ability to instill confidence in others of proposed LPM solutions

  • Strong attention to detail, with highly developed organizational skills.

  • Be a self-starting go-getter, with an inquisitive mind, and a love for problem solving.

  • Strong written and verbal communications skills (writing and editing). 

  • German language skills preferred

  • Work efficiently without direct supervision, with the ability to multi task, and be flexible with changing priorities
