As an Advanced Modeling Engineering Intern at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be working in the Technology Development (TD) group supporting the modeling and simulation of next generation memory technologies! This position is in Hyderabad, IN, where you will work with a team of engineers working on various advanced modeling programs.

Your role comprises mainly of executing a project working with the team across Hyderabad, IN, and Boise, ID. This project can involve developing and validating process/structure models. You will report results to the TD team of modeling engineers and collaborating with them on next steps. This position seeks individuals that can code and implement predictive and prescriptive models!

Qualifications: 

ML and Agentic Solutions 

  • Design and develop agentic AI systems with autonomy, planning, reasoning, memory, and selfcorrection. 
  • Architect singleagent and multiagent systems, including coordination, role specialization, and task orchestration. 
  • Hands-on-experience on working with any of the frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Google ADK etc. 
  • Translate highlevel business objectives into AIdriven workflows executed by autonomous agents. 
  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into agent frameworks, including prompting strategies, tool calling, context management, and longterm memory. 
  • Evaluate when traditional automation is sufficient versus when adaptive, agentic intelligence is required. 
  • Good hands on knowledge of ML and statistical techniques. 

UI / UX & HumanCentered AI 

  • Design intuitive, trustworthy user interfaces and experiences for AIdriven systems. 
  • Build humanintheloop workflows that allow users to guide, review, override, and collaborate with agents. 
  • Surface agent planning, reasoning, and decisions through clear UI signals, explanations, and feedback. 
  • Partner with product and design teams to create dashboards, conversational interfaces, and interaction flows. 
  • Apply UX principles to reduce cognitive load and ensure AI outputs are actionable, explainable, and aligned with user intent. 

Governance, Safety & Enterprise Readiness 

  • Implement governance and safety guardrails for autonomous agents, including validation, fallback, and recovery mechanisms. 
  • Deliver secure, compliant, scalable, productionready AI solutions across cloud, private, and hybrid environments. 
  • Align AI behavior with organizational policies, risk controls, and ethical standards. 

Scientific Computing & Process Control 

  • Strong experience in algorithm development, numerical methods, and scientific computing. 
  • Expertise in process control algorithms, optimization techniques, and process-based model development. 
  • Strong understanding on Linear and Non – Linear Model Predictive Control. 
  • Experience with physics informed neural networks (PINNs) and related methods. 
  • Experience packaging Python code into applications and working in HPC Linux environments. 
  • Background in solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, and computational materials science. 

Documentation and Soft Skills 

  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problemsolving skills. 
  • Experience authoring technical reports and/or conference papers. 
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative and remote team environments. 
  • Semiconductor process development or integration background preferred. 
  • Demonstrated independence, strong ownership, and execution capability. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a strong teamwork mindset. 

Education Requirement & eligibility: 

  • Pursuing (final‑year candidates) a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
