Job Description:

Title:   Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations

Division: Corporate – Information Technology (IT)

Status: Exempt

Reports to: Vice-President of Information Technology

PURPOSE          

According to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and reporting to the Vice-President of Information Technology, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, implementation, and management of the organization's IT infrastructure and operational systems. This role ensures the security, reliability, and scalability of IT environments while optimizing technology to support business objectives. The Director leads IT service delivery, network architecture, cloud computing, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and enterprise infrastructure solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Stay informed on emerging technology trends to drive IT infrastructure improvements and strategic upgrades.
  • Oversee the Microsoft 365 platform and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Manage IT asset provisioning and lifecycle management to optimize resource utilization.
  • Lead the IT help desk operations, ensuring timely and effective employee support.
  • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to safeguard company data and systems.
  • Oversee the secure and compliant use of Information Assurance (IA) protocols.
  • Manage the Prelude team and other IT infrastructure personnel, including performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership and business stakeholders to enhance help desk and desktop experiences for employees.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and security.
  • Ensure seamless operation of all IT systems, including network security, data management, and technical support.
  • Strategically oversee IT network and infrastructure hardware, proactively managing End-of-Life (EOL)/End-of-Service (EOS) systems.
  • Lead initiatives to consolidate and optimize IT networks and infrastructure.
  • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with Prelude and other managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Negotiate and maintain vendor contracts for IT products and services to maximize value and performance.

  • Must adhere to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
  • With respect to Resident Rights, ensure all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff. Reports all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors, reports all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.
  • Completes all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.

JOB SPECIFICATION SHEET— Director of IT Infrastructure and Operations

Education:        Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field required. Master’s degree is strongly preferred.  

Experience:       Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management and operations leadership required. Proven experience working with outsourcing partners and cloud service providers. Strong leadership and team management skills with experience in hiring and training. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities. In-depth knowledge of network security, data management, and enterprise IT systems.

Mental:            Must have excellent communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.  Must have the ability to speak, read, write and understand English, as well as the ability to make self-understood.

Skills:                    Must have good computer skills with basic professional computer software (Microsoft Office suite, Windows, etc.) and the capacity for learning new software systems quickly.  Must be self-directed with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks and assignments concurrently.  Must be able to successfully lead others in an environment of complexity.

Must have strong motivational skills and a high emotional intelligence quotient (EQ)

Working Conditions:                       Office based. Due to occasional work in long term care facilities, exposure to some disagreeable conditions such as noise, odors, illness, infection and physical contact with disruptive residents.

Consequences of Errors:             Substantial. High monetary responsibility.
