Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Database Services Leader to oversee Operations and Projects. The ideal candidate will have broad expertise across multiple database management systems, with DB2 LUW experience being essential. This role combines strategic leadership with deep technical knowledge, focusing on delivering exceptional database services to our diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage either an Operations team (handling day-to-day database management) or a Projects team (overseeing migrations, upgrades, and major implementations)
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance service delivery, client satisfaction, and operational efficiency
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues and strategic client engagements
  • Manage client relationships
  • Ensure compliance with SLAs, regulatory requirements, and industry standards across all client engagements
  • Drive innovation in our service delivery methods, incorporating new technologies and best practices
  • Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and team development to meet client needs
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field;
  • 15+ years of experience in database administration and management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
  • Knowledge of multiple database management systems, with SME DB2 LUW expertise
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale database operations or projects
  • Track record of successfully leading and growing teams
  • Strong understanding of database security, compliance, and governance principles
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with a wide range of database technologies (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases)
  • Significant experience with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)
  • Background in IT service management, Agile principles and methodologies, Scrum practices
  • Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other data-intensive industries

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $91,400 - $169,700.
