Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Food & Beverage Worker at Cabarrus Arena & Events Center.  This is a hands-on position assisting in the setup, event day operations, and closing of catering and concessions events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Catering

  • Attend pre-event service briefing
  • Follow instructions for each event as given by the Food & Beverage Manager/Supervisor
  • Assist with preparation, setup, and teardown of room and equipment for catering    events
  • Assist with gathering, setup, and teardown of banquet equipment to include flatware, china, glassware, and serving pieces needed for each event
  • Prepare tables with place settings
  • Assist with preparing garnishes, beverages, condiments, and breads
  • Provide friendly and courteous service to guests during catered meals
  • Follow service standards, procedures, and guidelines
  • Remain at assigned station and perform duties as assigned for each event
  • Report any customer concerns to the Food & Beverage Manager/Supervisor
  • Restock buffet items during catering service
  • Clear plates, utensils, and service items from tables
  • Clean and return serving pieces to proper storage
  • Adhere to grooming standards and uniform requirements
  • Maintain ASM Global rules and policies as well as local health and sanitation requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Maintain ASM Global rules and policies as well as local health and sanitation requirements
  • Maintain a sanitary and safe work area
  • Maintain inventory and supplies as assigned locations
  • Setup, cleaning, and teardown of concession stands/carts
  • Basic concessions food preparation
  • Interact with customers and clients in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Serve customers food and drinks in a timely manner
  • Handles cash and credit card payments
  • Maintain accurate cash handling, sales, and inventory records
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience          

  • One (1) year of work experience in service-oriented environment is preferred

  • Basic math ability to accurately count inventory and money
  • Simple food preparation
  • Positive attitude
  • Ability to receive and carry out instructions in a timely manner

 While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds to the waist. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.

Hours of Work and Travel Requirements

  • 10-20 hours per week on average
  • Irregular hours including early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays as determined by event schedule
  • Extended hours may be required, as determined by event schedule
  • Out of town and overnight travel is not required
