Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Principal Structural Analysis Engineer/ Sr Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. Position is located in Melbourne, Florida.
Essential functions:
Perform static, dynamic, and DaDT structural analyses of metallic and composite airframe structure, mechanical systems, and equipment, by hand and by using the automated methods and procedures approved for the program. Ensure that designs meet program requirements and are the lightest, lowest cost, and highest quality products consistent with schedule and budget objectives.
The analyst may also be expected to derive non-flight applied loads, create, extract, and distribute internal loads and perform weight and stiffness optimization. Tools utilized may include FEMAP, NX, Teamcenter and other software applications.
Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish
the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously, and comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Structural Engineer or Sr Principal Structural Engine level based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Structural Engineer are:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 3 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
Basic Qualifications for a Sr Principal Structural Engineer are:
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with a minimum of 8 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis Or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 6 years’ experience to include a background in aerospace structural analysis
Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to start of employment
