Overview of Role

The person will join the Cross Barrel Desk, Singapore and will learn and gain insights about trading operations and processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with keen interest in the commodity trading industry and will allow him/her to gain more insight into how a trading business is built and maintained. Alongside the desk traders and quants, the successful candidate will be involved into the day-to-day monitoring of the strategy executions and responsible to improve the desk infrastructure robustness.

Main Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test real-time mission critical software for algorithmic trading.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues, collaborating with exchanges and brokers to effectively oversee and monitor the team's strategies.
  • Collaborate within a team alongside traders to implement automated trading strategies utilizing our established framework.
  • Improve execution algorithm within the desk automated execution platform.
  • Develop and enhance the existing analytical tools and databases.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by manager

Profile

The individual should have the following experience:

  • Degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of coding expertise in C#/C++ and Python, with a mandatory 2+ years of experience in Python.
  • Experience in a real-time trading environment and proficiency in order management, exchange connectivity or market data handling. Familiarity with FIX protocol is desirable.
  • Experience working with Linux, UI and databases (MongoDB would be a plus).
  • Good knowledge of data structures.
  • Self-driven with the capability to excel both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
