CoverMyMeds (CMM) is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Data Engineering team that supports our Data Analytics organization! Our ideal candidate will have cloud-centric, data reliability and infrastructure as code (IaC) experience. Experience with cloud data platforms Databricks and Snowflake are highly desired. Our Data Engineering Team is a highly technical group of results driven engineers, analysts and architects focused on providing our internal and external clients with high quality, repeatable and scalable data solutions.  The work of this Platform Data Engineering team helps get more people the medicine they need to live healthier lives. NOTE: This team is not responsible for transforming and preparing data for use in reporting or analytics. This is a data PLATFORM position.
 

*Candidate must be based in the metropolitan area of our hub city Columbus, OH. Position will primarily allow for remote working, but candidate must reside in the Columbus, OH area and be willing to come into the office from time to time for key meetings and face time.

What You'll Do 
The Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will support and expand the data platforms that process, store, and organize the data critical for the Data and Analytics teams. This individual will participate in the technical strategy and execution to provide trusted, stable, reliable, responsive, and secure solutions and proactively inform business partners on our data & analytics platform, product health, and problem resolution. The Site Reliability Engineer will work with our Data Systems Analysts and our Analytics and Technology partners to solve business problems and deliver solutions.  This person will be responsible for managing multiple systems related to data marts and analytics solutions and serve as an SRE for the DE organization, ensuring systems are setup to scale with security and performance and operational efficiency in mind.  

Position Description

  • Provide production support and troubleshooting for multiple databases and systems responsible for data replication and transformation

  • Assist with migration and implementation of new systems in the cloud

  • Recommend and make improvements to existing systems and processes to improve reliability, security and scalability

  • Work with application development teams and other DE teams to determine data flow in the source system and architect an appropriate flow into the data warehouse

  • Under the guidance of a senior engineer, design and develop solutions and commissions of complex data across systems for McKesson/CoverMyMeds internal and external customers

Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and typically has 4+ years of professional experience in site reliability / data reliability engineering

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure for Databricks and Snowflake (2+ years of Snowflake preferred)

  • Strong, hands-on experience as a technologist working with data warehouse systems, cloud technology, and large-scale, high performance data solutions

  • Administration and performance optimization for Databricks and/or Snowflake and implementing data mesh solution to reduce data replication needs

  • Experience with cloud data technologies including VMs, Docker/Kubernetes applications, and distributed networks with different operating systems such as Linux and Windows

  • Experience with infrastructure as a service and the use of Terraform and Github Actions to automate deployment

  • Worked with structured and unstructured data and within batch and real-time data streaming environments

  • Experience supporting Reporting and Analytics systems for Data Quality, Cataloging and Governance

  • Proficient use of Python for data flows and scripting of administrative tasks

  • Experience working with sensitive data with regularly audited IT General Controls

  • Experience with business-critical applications

  • Experience on large-scale implementation programs

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Snowflake, Qlik Replicate, MSSQL Server are a plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing for timely communication with clear expectations - an active listener and clear communicator who can lead by influence

  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex problems

  • Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and ownership for task/project completion

  • Highly adept at working collaboratively across multiple business and technical functions to achieve results

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$105,500 - $175,900
