Job description

As an OSAT Category Supplier Manager at Micron Technology, Inc., you will manage a strategic supplier and developing suppliers through advanced techniques, models, and processes that result in high quality supplier support when providing goods and services. This includes but is not limited to activities that support strategic initiatives, RFQ’s, sourcing, cost savings and commercial tactical functions.

In this role, you are expected to collaborate with OSAT Category Director, other Category Supplier Managers across multiple categories, in an indirect leadership role. You will engage in and support the development and implementation of supplier strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality.

Roles & Responsibilities

Support OSAT Category Director on the following activities

  • Coordinate commercial supplier initiatives
  • Lead or participate sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation
  • Support supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of a strategic supplier
  • Ensure supplier contracts meet stakeholder needs and both parties comply with terms once finalized
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with the supplier while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic direction
  • Ensure the supplier complies with Micron's code-of-conduct programs and corporate social responsibility initiatives
  • Create and foster a collaborative environment with suppliers to generate optimum value to the Micron network.
  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements across categories into negotiations
  • Partner with Category Analyst in tracking and meeting cost savings goal and initiatives
  • Utilize should-cost models that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
  • Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plans and messaging
  • Participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc.
  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement

Education

Required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience:
• Business Administration/Management
• Engineering
• Supply Chain Management
• Related field of study

Experiences

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to work independently and in collaboration with a cross functional team
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Business or communication training (Bachelors or equivalent experience)
• Possess relationship skills / ability to “be the face of Micron”
• Negotiation training or experience
• Experience working in a small team environment
 

Qualification

Required: Minimal 5 years’ experience in any of the following
• Purchasing / Procurement
• Engineering
• Supplier/Partner Relations
• Supply Chain

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Site Supplier Performance and Relationships
  • Own procurement process for designated areas and accounts
  • Negotiate with suppliers to meet business needs
  • Support capital budgeting and cash flow management, and the execution of Global Procurement strategies
  • Handle cost saving initiatives and metric
  • Implement cost savings and process improvement programs
  • Have deep knowledge to serve as a consultant for procurement process and supplier issues.
  • Support site audits
