The Opportunity

Our location in Abbott Park, IL, currently has an opportunity for a Supervisor Finance - FP&A. 

The Abbott Nutrition Headquarters (ANHQ) FP&A Supervisor will have key responsibilities of supporting planning and reporting processes for Abbott’s $8Bn revenue nutrition division. This position is responsible for supporting and leading the quarterly LBE/Planning process as well as other areas of responsibilities within the Financial Planning and Analysis team. The position will also identify/assess/implement process improvements, lead projects, assist with senior management presentations as well as support an array of ad-hoc FP&A activities for Abbott Nutrition Senior Leadership.  Some of the highlights of the position area: support to the Division President and Controller, exposure to the exchange complexities with a large global business, a wide range of strategic projects, opportunity to learn about the AN brands and customers and work with other AN Divisions and Corporate FP&A.  

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

  • Support the division in activities related to business strategies, management/executive reporting, and presentations. 
    • Serve as financial support to the Division’s Strategy team.
    • Lead development of Finance deliverables for OEM (5-year plan) 
    • Lead and/or support executive leadership presentations (including BOD, Corp Officer)
  • Support and organize the LBE/Actuals Balance Sheet processes from a headquarters perspective.
    • Develop and communicate calendar timeline for deliverables and management review.
    • Create financial templates, coordinate process with the Nutrition sub-divisions (Commercial, Manufacturing, R&D), consolidate financials, ensure timely and accurate submissions to Corporate. 
    • Support preparation of executive level presentations for internal and external reviews. 
    • Prepare and analyze Cash Flow statement and other Balance Sheet forecast analysis. 
    • Bring numbers to life to drive better understanding and decision making (cash flow, ROI, etc.). 
    • Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level. Assuring accuracy of financial transactions and reporting. 
  • Actively support various ad-hoc financial requests – division, corporate, investor relations, including financial modeling with extensive use of Excel. 
  • Support/perform timely and accurate actual reporting and variance analysis. 
  • Collaborate with AN Divisions. 
  • Ensure accurate tie outs between the different reporting tools. 
  • Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING  

Required  

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance.
  • Minimum 6 years of combined Finance/Accounting experience is required.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently and with senior management. 
  • Effective communication, soft skills and prioritization of assignments. 
  • Executive presentation experience desirable. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (mainly Excel and Power Point). 
  • Proficiency in HFM/CCI, SAP and Host Analytics is a plus.

The base pay for this position is

$83,000.00 – $166,000.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
