What you will do:

As Compliance and R&D Industrial Relations, Admin Manager, incumbent will lead a team of professionals to –

  • Strategize, design, and implement compliance processes as well as systems which facilitate teams to achieve business objectives. These compliances will include but not limited to all activities related to Factory and Shops and Establishment acts and any or all other related acts and regulations.

  • Own and manage compliance related matters for R&D operations towards timely approvals/clearances required as per norms in a highly regulated environment.

  • Identify and mitigate related risks to ensure smooth business operations. This requires publishing the periodical risk report, mitigation strategy, and closure of all points

  • Ensure proper documentation, records, guidelines, processes etc. are in place for internal reviews and external submissions.

  • Drive EHS agenda, manage safe workplace operations, ensure compliance, and promote safety culture with the assistance from the India EHS lead

  • Liaison between the stake holders, management, and executive team with regards to critical infrastructure & equipment maintenance, internal construction, work orders and projects scheduling, and other logistical needs. The scope also covers the Test lab operations.

  • Ensure Quality Checks, Documentation, records, and regular monitoring of Goods received as part of Inventory (Stores) management.

  • Material movement & warehouse management

  • Role of an Act as an internal Auditor to audit the compliance and infra setup at all R&D locations.

  • Liaison with Government authorities, custom authorities, Local bodies etc. in a highly regulated environment adhering to organization Code of Conduct

  • Develop and work with vendors/professionals for Compliance related matters, if required

  • Work with Stryker’s Legal team and External Consultant/s to draft appropriate replies to Government Notices/Clarifications sought

  • This role requires self to stay abreast of Compliance trends, facility management norms, any changes as well as developing team for future needs.

  • Apart from this, the incumbent will work with the R&D Ops leader to prepare and implement Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs) related to R&D Operations in India

  • Collaborate with cross-functional managers to define project's SOW and budget. Monitor and maintain your team's costs within budget.

  • Build and sustain effective stakeholder relationships at all levels, particularly with business partners. Develop stakeholder strategies for the effective management across broad range of expectations and requirements.

  • Implement effective communications management strategies to senior management with specific emphasis on business objectives delivery, efficient resource deployment, effective risk and issue management.

  • May manage people managers. May manage all levels of project managers and/or people managers. Influences talent strategy in the department. Regularly coaches team members and peers to elevate team performance.

  • Additional role-specific technical areas of responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary by the local hiring manager.

  • Is a great communicator both formally and informally; use accessible language and can speak confidently and with a sense of authority

  • Deals well with ambiguity and can make decisions with relevant but not necessarily complete information

What You Need:

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • LLB

  • LLM (Preferred)


Preferred Qualifications (Strongly desired):

Must Have:

  • 12+ years of related experience in managing Compliance/Regulatory functions (preferably from Medtech/Healthcare/Pharma Corporate experience)

  • Experience of managing compliances related to Factories Act, Shops and Establishment Acts, EHS, Industrial Relations and others.

Good to have:

Knowledge of compliance across Pan-India especially in Karnataka
