Job Summary

Responsible for the strategic direction of Construction for the Freedom Region which spans New Jersey, the Philadelphia PA suburbs and Northern Delaware and employs approximately 2,700 employees. The RVP leads a high performing team of leaders, construction project managers and specialists, maximizing performance by recruiting, training, and motivating talented leaders and teammates in a diverse and people-focused culture. Manages third party resources. Manages network capacity, performance and construction design for the region. Reports region’s network performance and construction project status to Region SVP, Division, and HQ. Participates in formulating and administering Company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives. Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results. Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage, and differentiation. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual and critical issues. Develops long term plans that impact the achievement of business results. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities. Demonstrates leadership versatility.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing and planning the strategy and financial operations of the network maintenance and construction teams by creating budgets, providing strategic operational direction, and ensuring organizational effectiveness.
  • Function as chief technical resource to Regional Senior Vice President regarding network maintenance and construction planning, decision-making, network architecture, and the implementation of new technology-based products and services.
  • Support storm restoration and other natural disaster recoveries and events.
  • Partners with the RVP of Technical Operations to ensure that maintenance projects are planned and executed to create the best Customer Experience.
  • Partners with the RVP Government Affairs to ensure that service, governmental and franchise demands are met effectively and efficiently through overseeing the organization and planning of staff and equipment.
  • Partners with Business Development team to identify areas for new build.
  • Partners with Finance and Business Operations team to manage capital spend and ensure IRRs are met.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of a long-term engineering strategy in conjunction with Division and Corporate Engineering leadership.
  • Manages third party resources for construction.
  • Monitors compliance with client service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develops and promotes a customer-driven service culture.
  • Acts as a champion through continued focus on proactively identifying and addressing processes that are impacting network and construction work.
  • Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.
  • Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage and differentiation.
