The Finance Team includes Finance Business Partnership, Accounting, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and Investor Relations teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for a Head of Corporate Accounting to join Snap Inc! As a member of the Accounting team, you  will lead, drive, and direct the global accounting functions including monthly close of the general ledger, coordination of quarterly reviews and audits, optimization of processes and internal controls and building, managing, and developing the accounting team.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead, manage and develop a high performing accounting team, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals through ongoing feedback

  • Drive efficiency, optimization, and automation of business processes and develop and document accounting policies to standardize processes and strengthen internal controls

  • Lead and actively participate in business initiatives and projects, including operationalizing the accounting for new transactions and  implementation of new accounting standards

  • Oversee the US accounting team to ensure standardization of processes and timely and accurate month- and year-end closings of accounting transactions in compliance with US GAAP 

  • Partner with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits

  • Responsible for timely execution of SOX controls across the US accounting team

  • Support M&A integration activities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Track record of motivating and managing a larger accounting team 

  • Demonstrated experience in M&A integration of operating companies and driving efficiencies through the consolidation of accounting process 

  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally 

  • Proven track record to thrive in a multifaceted environment under short timelines and changing priorities 

  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Results oriented with a “can do” attitude and willingness to drive process change within the team, taking on additional responsibilities as needed 

  • Flexible and able to adapt to the Company’s changing needs and priorities 

  • Experience in technology or digital media industries 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 8+ years of combined experience in public accounting and in a leadership role at a public company

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required

  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing accounting teams

  • Extensive knowledge of US accounting standards and SOX compliance

  • Experience with global consolidations and multi-currency accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Big 4 firm experience

  • Fortune 500 company experience

  • Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.)

  • MBA or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):

The base salary range for this position is $184,000-$276,000 annually.


 

Zone B:

The base salary range for this position is $175,000-$262,000 annually.

Zone C:

The base salary range for this position is $156,000-$235,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
