PURPOSE:
Oversee, provide leadership for and coordinate activities for production within the plant to ensure quality and productivity measurements are acceptable. Monitor shop floor safety. Responsible for training team members in their operations and the safety requirements of that operation. Supports, enforces and complies with all company policies and procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES:
Promote a positive team environment, including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and communication
Contribute to establishing process improvements and ensure it’s communicated to the production teams
Conduct shift meetings at the beginning of each shift, share daily production schedule with the production teams, activities, lines layout, and ensure proper staffing
Deliver effective training and performance management of Production workforce, ensuring employees in respective positions are trained in all processes and following proper protocol of position
Responsible for recording shift’s production and providing update to the incoming shift supervisor
Directs the flow of materials to assigned areas to maintain a smooth flow of work
Manage team time off requests
Ensure all employee issues and concerns are addressed promptly and are referred to Human Resources or the Production Manager. Collaborate with HR on employee relations issues and work together on appropriate disciplinary actions
Regularly walk the production floor throughout each shift, ensure safety requirements are being met and attended to.
Promote safety throughout the assigned area where the crew is working
Follow all plant safety and GMP rules and regulations
Ability to read and understand required paperwork, and ensure operators are completing required paperwork properly
Assist where needed/required in all food safety and quality issues or programs
Ensures all quantitative and qualitative measures in the operating plan are met, including those related to Line Efficiencies, Losses, Health & Safety and compliance with GMPs and Food Safety/Quality
Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
All other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential Criteria
5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience with exposure to the product formulation, processing, and packaging functions preferred)
Ability to learn all production lines
QUALIFICATIONS REQURIED:
Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalant required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Education in HACCP (Food Safety) and Food Quality preferred

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION:
Base starting salary at $63,000/yr. The Base pay offered is based on market location and
may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
