Job Overview:

The Sr. IT Product Manager, Grants Payment will oversee the development and management of IT solutions and processes related to grants payment management for clinical research projects. The role will lead a team of professionals responsible for implementing and maintaining systems that support grant budgeting, tracking, payment processing, and reporting. The Sr. IT Product Manager, Grants payment will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely disbursement of funds to research sites and collaborators, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions for grants payment management, including software applications, databases, and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, accounting, clinical operations, and IT, to gather requirements, define system specifications, and prioritize enhancements to grants payment systems.
  • Oversee the configuration, customization, and integration of grants payment software with other enterprise systems, such as financial management, clinical trial management, and vendor payment systems.
  • Ensure that grants payment systems comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices for financial controls, data privacy, and security.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to grants payment processes, including grant budgeting, approval workflows, payment schedules, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor grants payment performance metrics and KPIs to measure the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of payment processes, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Lead the selection, onboarding, and management of vendors and service providers for grants payment software, services, and support.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the grant’s payment IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in grants management, financial systems, and regulatory compliance, and evaluate their potential impact on grants payment processes and systems.
  • All other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Fortrea may consider relevant and equivalent experience in lieu of educational requirements.
  • Strong understanding of grants management processes, including grant budgeting, tracking, payment processing, and reporting, preferably in the context of clinical research or academic institutions.
  • Experience with grants management software solutions as well as integration with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and financial management systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to grants management, financial controls, and data privacy.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams and stakeholders across the organization.

Experience (Minimum Required):  

  • 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on grants management systems, financial systems, or related areas within the life sciences or healthcare industry.

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
