Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee day-to-day facilities and infrastructure maintenance programs for our Bitcoin Mining Data Centers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management, particularly within high-density, mission-critical environments. This role requires a deep understanding of the unique needs of a data center, including power management, mechanical systems, and security.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilities Management:

  • Oversee the operation of the facility infrastructure and ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and reliability.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for facility infrastructure and building maintenance.
  • Coordinate with internal IT and Operations teams and vendors to ensure the mining hardware and infrastructure are functioning at peak efficiency.

Maintenance & Repairs:

  • Manage the preventative and emergency maintenance schedule for all facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems.
  • Oversee and coordinate repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repair tasks.

Power & Cooling Management:

  • Monitor and manage the power supply and distribution systems, ensuring efficient energy usage.
  • Oversee the liquid cooling systems, ensuring they are operating effectively to maintain optimal temperatures for mining equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Security & Compliance:

  • Coordinate with the internal HSE Officer, IT, and Operations teams to ensure the facility meets all security requirements, including physical security, access control, and surveillance systems.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with the internal HSE Officer and Operations teams to develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire safety, disaster recovery, and evacuation procedures.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenses.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising on safety or performance.
  • Ensure the availability of critical supplies, equipment, and spare parts.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the facilities team, providing training, support, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operation and communication across the organization.

Strategic Planning & Improvement:

  • Evaluate and implement new technologies and practices to improve facility operations and reduce costs.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of facility expansions or upgrades.
  • Develop long-term strategies for the maintenance and enhancement of the facility’s infrastructure.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in facilities management, preferably in a data center or high-demand industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with:
  •  Mechanical systems
  • Dry cooler platforms
  • Cooling loop systems (pumps, valves and PLC)
  • Adiabatic systems
  •  Electrical systems
  • High voltage substation systems
  • Medium/low voltage systems
  • Building management systems.
  • Experience with power management (curtailment strategies) and energy efficiency strategies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience in cryptocurrency mining or related industries is a plus but not required.
  • Certifications in facilities management, such as CFM, FMP, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations.
