We are seeking a self-starter passionate about Risk Management. This is a Pre-approval Controlled Function (PCF) job for employees based in Ireland. This position reports to the VP of Enterprise Risk Management and has a second reporting line to the WUPSIL CEO and will be responsible for assisting WUPSIL management in making informed business decisions through the formal and structured assessment of current and emerging risks, timely escalation through risk governance framework and providing assurance to the WUPSIL Board, WUPSGL and other regional entities of risk activities and operating within risk appetite. The role requires development and utilization of uniform and integrated practices and methods to create value through better identification, mitigation, response, and communication of internal and external risks. The role supports the global TWUC ERM framework, development, implementation, documentation, and maintaining effective risk management program for Western Union subsidiaries. 

 This is a Controlled Function (PCF) job.  

 

Roles Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the ERM program for WUPSIL, WUPSGL and select subsidiaries. This includes assessments, risk intake, risk understanding, risk monitoring, risk reporting. Understanding emerging risks (retail and digital) on the business and supporting the organization in execution of risk management framework for discussion of risk appetite, risk tolerance and key risk indicators. 

  • Participate and direct periodic, risk assessments, (Risk and Control Self-Assessment), in pursuit of understanding risks and monitoring of controls and key risk indicators. Work collaboratively with the TWUC ERM and the respective Western Union subsidiaries for understanding emerging 

  • Support Executive Management in its review and approval of the risk governance framework, including risk appetite, defining risk appetite statements, risk tolerance and key risk indicators. Support the collection of risks into a risk register for proper reporting and discussion at appropriate committees and levels of the organization. 

  • Engage or lead special projects aligned with ERM 2nd line risk ownership and oversight. 

  • Manage production of risk reporting, including Board reporting 

  • Manage a team to support execution of the WUPSIL Risk Management program. 

Role Requirements  

  • Banking experience or fintech experience, either in risk management role or in a compliance/regulatory role focused on adherence to laws, codes, regulations, and guidelines. 

  • Strong understanding and experience in digital account-to-account product offerings and related risks; specifically, compliance, fraud, settlement, operations, etc. Additional expertise in digital wallet risks related to fraud exposure and supporting management in reporting and decision making. 

  • Exposure: Risk, COSO, or other risk framework ISO 31000 

  • Team leadership, influencing,
