Group Audit & Assurance (GA&A) provides independent, objective and commercial risk focused assurance to the Board Audit Committee to assist the Group in securing and enhancing the financial wellbeing of its stakeholders.

The department consists of over 230 professional audit personnel who conduct internal audit, credit portfolio assurance and retail network assurance reviews group wide. The team works closely with senior management and staff across the business, including Line 1 and Line 2 risk management, and external auditors. GA&A provides feedback to management on improving their control environment, as well as sharing learnings, including commercial insights and productivity opportunities.

We are of strategic importance to GA&A, being responsible for leveraging data analytics to enhance and expand audit processes to provide greater assurance. To achieve this, we utilise a broad range of analytical tools including SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, Jupyter Notebooks, Tableau, and other specialised tools.

We are high performing team with a pioneering approach to analytics and its application within Group Audit. We are highly integrated with the business auditors - combining deep business understanding with analytical capabilities.

In this role

As a Senior Manager Insights Analytics, you will be a senior member of a team providing knowledge, oversight with direction and support of the development of more junior members in the GA&A Analytics function.

Key responsibilities for this role include

  • Developing and maintaining more efficient and effective processes utilising data analytics, AI, and automation

  • Maintaining and enhancing the GA&A technology environment that supports the execution of analytics & AI for Audit and Assurance activities

  • Providing application of analytics towards ad-hoc or bespoke initiatives that support the GA&A Strategic Objectives

  • Supporting and ensuring the data strategy, data environments and tooling is fit for purpose, stable and safe

  • Uplifting the analytical capability of the Group Audit department through the continual uplift of frameworks & processes and delivery of training

  • Ensuring GA&A Analytics function are adhering to methodology (frameworks/processes) through peer and quality assurance reviews
     

We’re interested in hearing from people who have

  • Established experience in a hands-on analytics role preferrable in data management, risk management, and governance domains.

  • Solid experience in SQL and Python for data wrangling, analysis, and modelling

  • Strong expertise Data Visualisation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau

  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills with strong influencing and interpersonal abilities 

  • Proven experience producing presentations and comfortable speaking to audiences is strongly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant field (commerce, economics, accounting, finance, mathematics, statistics, science)
