Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum (FTE) depending on experience

Location: Buckhurst Hill hospital

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week over 4 days (set day off each week). Part time applications welcome.

1 in 3 Saturdays on rota (alternating between and full and a half day).

No nights, no on call and no Sundays.

Opportunity to work as part of a collaborative 4-5 vet team in our Buckhurst Hill Hospital, in London. Accommodation available if required.

Situation in Northeast London, Our Buckhurst Hill hospital is ideally Located just a 3 minuet walk from the Buckhurst Hill, Central Line tube station, offering great transport links into the City. Equally, the Hertfordshire and Essex countryside is close by, and the beautiful Epping Forest is right on our doorstep.  

Currently we have a team of robust general practice clinicians, however further pursuit of one’s own special interests are encouraged and supported. We have a visiting ultrasonographer once weekly to retain our more complex medicine cases in- house. We have an ongoing, excellent relationship with peripatetic orthopaedic/ soft tissue surgeon(s) who are happy to support with orthopaedic and soft tissue cases- including interpreting those challenging orthopaedic xrays!

There is a self-contained flat available within the group for either short or long-term accommodation if required.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced, dedicated veterinary surgeon who strives to provide the best level of care for all our patients and their owners. You will have the ability to communicate confidently with associates at all levels which is important to us.

You will be able to prioritise your work based on clinical priority and importance. The successful applicant can expect to work in a happy and supportive environment, from our dedicated experienced nurses, patient care team right through to our client care team.

Your role and responsibilities will be to:

Ensure assessment of all cases, formulating and implementing preventative, diagnostic and treatment plans as appropriate. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the practice to do the same.

Ensure all treatment is carried out in accordance with practice protocols.

To ensure the clinical team maintains regular communication with clients regarding case progress and clients are advised of case costs and informed consent is given.

Ensure complete clinical records are maintained including correct and complete charging out of goods and services.

To work alongside and delegate tasks as required with other clinical and support staff.
