This month, USSOCOM launched SOF RACER — a new consortium that is free for the companies in it, pays its operators only to perform, and exists to move commercial technology to SOF operators in weeks instead of years. BMNT runs the human engine of that consortium: finding the companies, framing the problems, and preparing first-time defense vendors to compete and win. We need the person who runs it day to day.
You’ll be the working-level face of BMNT to USSOCOM, the engine-room chief for five (soon twelve) technology areas, and the reason a founder in Silicon Valley, Austin, or Boston puts hardware in an operator’s hands.
The program is funded, the clock is running, and the first competitions are coming. We’re not looking for someone to manage this program. We’re looking for someone to make it undeniable.
What you’ll actually do:
Who thrives in this seat:
Why BMNT
We’re the ~40-person Silicon Valley company that has spent a decade proving commercial innovation methods work in national security: our methods trace to the Army’s Rapid Equipping Force (which our founder led), we run the DIU-funded Hacking for Defense program across 60+ universities, and our pipelines have moved real technology — ocean sensors, photonic navigation, edge AI — into operational hands. We just helped end the consortium-fee model that taxed the defense industrial base for two decades. This role is where that argument gets proven. Small company, no layers, national mission, your fingerprints on all of it.
