The Vice President of Corporate Marketing is a strategic and visionary leader responsible for driving all aspects of internal and external communications, social media, customer reference marketing, events, brand management, and design. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and amplifying MongoDB’s brand narrative, ensuring cohesive and compelling messaging across all channels, and creating customer experiences that drive engagement and loyalty. This role is critical to driving our next phase of hypergrowth, requiring a leader with a deep understanding of corporate marketing at scale, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to inspire and lead a high-performing team. 

This role can be based out of our Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, or Washington D.C. offices. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate marketing strategy that aligns with MongoDB’s growth goals, particularly in becoming the leading database for AI-powered applications
  • Brand Positioning & Visual Design: Elevate and refine MongoDB’s brand identity, ensuring that visual design across all marketing materials, digital platforms, and events is consistent, compelling, and reflective of the company’s innovation and leadership in the market
  • Thought Leadership: Work closely with the executive team to develop and communicate visionary insights on the future of data, AI, and technology that resonate with industry stakeholders, customers, and the broader market
  • Influencer Marketing: Develop and implement a strategic influencer marketing program that leverages key industry influencers, creators, podcasters, and advocates to amplify MongoDB’s message, drive brand credibility, and expand reach within target markets
  • Strategic Communications: Lead a unified approach to communications, spanning PR, AR, internal communications, crisis communications, and executive communications, to ensure consistent, coherent, and compelling messaging across all touchpoints
  • Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute an innovative social media strategy that amplifies MongoDB’s brand presence, engages with key audiences, and drives growth across all social platforms globally; Ensure that social media efforts are aligned with broader marketing objectives and effectively leverage trends and analytics
  • Customer Reference Marketing: Develop and execute strategies to amplify customer success stories, leveraging MongoDB’s broad platform to drive advocacy and customer engagement
  • Events & Keynotes: Lead the strategy for key events, ensuring MongoDB’s presence is impactful and aligned with broader business objectives. Oversee the development of compelling keynotes for the executive team
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a high-performing global team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation. Developing the team to scale and meet the demands of a rapidly growing company
  • Market Insights: Stay ahead of industry trends and competitive landscape to ensure MongoDB’s marketing strategies are cutting-edge and effective in driving awareness around our market differentiation

We're Excited About You Because:

  • Proven Experience: 15+ years of experience in corporate marketing with a focus on technology, preferably within cloud, database, or AI sectors. Experience scaling marketing operations in companies with revenue exceeding $5B is essential
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading and inspiring large, diverse marketing teams. Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of an organization
  • Strategic Vision: Strong strategic thinking with a track record of building and executing marketing strategies that drive business growth and market leadership
  • Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for different audiences
  • Cultural Fit: Alignment with MongoDB’s culture of growth and its leadership principles, including a commitment to innovation, customer focus, and teamwork

MongoDB’s base salary range for this role is posted below. Compensation at the time of offer is unique to each candidate and based on a variety of factors such as skill set, experience, qualifications, and work location. Salary is one part of MongoDB’s total compensation and benefits package. Other benefits for eligible employees may include: equity, participation in the employee stock purchase program, flexible paid time off, 20 weeks fully-paid gender-neutral parental leave, fertility and adoption assistance, 401(k) plan, mental health counseling, access to transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage, and health benefits offerings. Please note, the base salary range listed below and the benefits in this paragraph are only applicable to U.S.-based candidates.

$152,000$298,000 USD
