The Opportunity
This position works out of our Barceloneta location in the Vascular division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
As the Sr Financial Analyst, you will provide the Plant full accountability of raw materials, commodities and work in process inventory transactions, reconciliation o books inventory values with perpetual inventory records, accurate reporting of efficiency operation variance, and cost reductions.
What You’ll Do
- Assist local management in the financial analysis, cost projections, and explanation of efficiency and spending variances from predetermined manufacturing standards or departmental budgets.
- Responsible for the work in process inventory transactions, data integrity, including and not limited to stage yield reporting, and actual direct labor and equipment running hours.
- Maintain work in process inventory suspense account balance and corresponding itemized reconciliation.
- Responsible for the preparation, publication, and distribution of monthly Plant wide inventories reconciliation with perpetual inventory records.
- Maintain a parameter Excel file on the basis of incremental cost broken down by major cost elements covering all the list number currently being manufactured, to be used in quick/accurate throughput projections.
- Responsible for the codification of S.R.V.s to product structures covering cost reductions or methods revision.
- Responsible for the maintenance, development, calculation, and establishment of manufacturing standards cost by production center and by list number.
- Direct Manufacturing/Cost accounting complying with corporate policies, GAAP and SEC.
- Ensure monthly/yearly results are prepared timely and accurately.
- Maintain a manufacturing cost system to provide accurate and timely quantitative data relative to progress against budgets and standards, and to enable appropriate inventory valuation in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Supervision and assistance to the general accounting group in the compilation and integrity of financial data including gathering, approvals, processing and auditing of accounting transactions.
- Assist the accounting staff in the development of annual operating plans and periodic updates.
- Participate and assists in the preparation of monthly Flash, D.1.1, D.56 reporting and financial statements packages.
- Develop and prepare yearly Financial Plan, Update, Long Range Plans and Monthly LBEs.
- Direction in coordination with the Plant Controller, all the functions an activities associated with the managerial cost accounting section, such as budget preparation, standard cost generation, manufacturing product costing, manufacturing variance (Yield, material and overhead, etc.) analysis, inventory reconciliations, forecasting and projections, etc. for PR area.
- In coordination with the Plant Controller, participate in a thorough training program over subordinates aiming to maintain a stable and competent accounting staff.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Finance or Accounting)
- Minimum 5 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA
- Experience in regulated industries

The base pay for this position is
$66,000.00 – $132,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
