Role & Overview: Design Pursuits Strategist

We are seeking an exceptional critical thinker who will serve as a vital strategic partner to the Design Desk Lead.

Focusing primarily on business development through RFP/proposal creation, while acting as a thinking partner and action planner for strategic initiatives within InSourcing, Internal and external pursuits to drive regional and global growth.

 

This role combines strategic thinking, business development acumen, and operational insight to provide clever design: solutions, connections, cross regional integrations and strategies essential to JLL Design’s global success.

This position required has multiple global touch points and therefore, excellent communication is critical, as the majority, if not all, of our collaboration is completed online through digital communication tools.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Partnership & Advisory

  • Act as strategic thinking partner and sounding board for the Design Desk Lead

  • Facilitate strategic planning conversations and help translate vision into actionable initiatives

  • Analyse opportunities within JLL's broader business lines to connect dots and identify new service offerings

  • Support business case development for new products, services, or market approaches

  • Navigate stakeholder relationships across JLL's organization to build buy-in and explore collaborative opportunities

RFP & Proposal Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end RFP response strategy and execution for EMEA region (with focus on global pursuits, key accounts, and multilocational clients)

  • Develop compelling, tailored value propositions for different client segments

  • Work with marketing to align and or create template libraries, case studies, and standardized response frameworks for efficient proposal development

  • Coordinate cross-functional proposal teams and manage submission timelines

  • Analyse win/loss patterns alongside business developer’s to continuously refine approach, messaging, and positioning

  • Collaborate with global players on pricing strategy as part of proposal development

  • Work with relevant colleagues to master JLL Design Desk's costing models for internal products, available systems, and service offerings

 Process & Product Development

  • Design scalable processes and workflows that emerge from strategic initiatives and new product development

  • Co-create roadmaps to spearhead and action new services or delivery methodologies

  • Support the development and communication of new offerings to internal and external clients

  • Pilot emerging opportunities (e.g., AI-enabled solutions, new service tiers) in collaboration with team leads.

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture is beneficial but not essential

  • Degree or diploma in business is beneficial but not essential

  • Qualification +/ experience to support role description

 

Required Skills and Qualities:

Essential

  • Strategic thinker with business development experience, particularly in professional services or B2B environments

  • Proven ability to craft compelling proposals, tenders, or business cases

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to structure unclear problems

  • Proactive self-starter who can work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail in costing, pricing, and financial modelling

Valuable

  • Experience in design, architecture, construction, or real estate sectors

  • Understanding of global/multinational client needs and multi-regional service delivery

  • Background in consulting, strategy, or operations roles

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, proposal software, or project management tools

  • Network within corporate real estate, workplace design, or related industries
