Integrated Learning Design (ILD) designs, develops, delivers, and supports earning experiences for internal and external clients. Our products reflect TNTP’s perspectives and priorities, authentic practice opportunities, and best practices for adult learning.
TNTP’s Instructional Designers work as part of a content development team that includes a project manager, subject matter experts, instructional designers, course writers, editors, and testers. You will collaborate with other team members to design engaging learning content for adult learners whose work directly affects students in public PK – 12 settings.
Specific responsibilities include:
Collaborate with course and content development teams to produce high-quality learning products.
Adhere to ILD guidelines, specifications, templates, and design standards to ensure consistency across courses.
Collaborate with course writers to create learning activities, interactive scenarios, and other elements that support a practice-based, application-focused learning experience.
Use adult learning theory and instructional design best practices to create effective asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences.
Design and build online courses using Articulate Rise and other digital tools as needed.
Design and build instructor-led training (ILT).
Develop course collateral such as facilitator guides, participant guides, workbooks, and other learning supports.
Ensure alignment across all course components—objectives, content, activities, assessments, and collateral materials—within and across modules.
Design and build courses that meet ADA and WCAG Level A-AA accessibility requirements.
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure instructional accuracy, accessibility, and template fidelity.
Balance tight deadlines with the expectation to deliver high-quality, instructionally sound learning experiences.
We expect our instructional designers to possess superb design skills and to be well-versed in instructional design methods, The ability to work as part of a team, execute on-time, and effectively communicate is critical to the success of this position.
Specifically, we are looking for:
Expertise in course authoring software (required) with a strong preference for Articulate 360.
Experience working on remote team (required).
Expertise with ADDIE or similar instructional design model.
Practical application of adult learning theory to create effective and engaging learning experiences
Experience delivering online courses via LMS using SCORM.
Ability to create professional, high-quality images using Canva, Photoshop, or other design tools.
Understanding of ADA and WCAG accessibility requirements.
Ability to write strong objectives using Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Knowledge of plain-language practices for readability.
Ability to write effective scripts for audio and video components
Ability to manage and action rounds of constructive feedback.
Comfort with an iterative design and development process.
Comfort producing deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Time Commitment
Integrated Learning Designs course development team members can expect up to 20 hours of orientation and project-embedded onboarding, with a combination of synchronous and asynchronous work. Course development team members are assigned to projects on an as-needed basis, with course development project timelines varying between several weeks and up to a full year or more.

TNTP offers a competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience in a similar position. The pay rate for this position is $49.00 per hour.
